When I can't find my keys what I do without even thinking is ask "You got my keys Woman" 99.9% of the the time the answer is "Yes" My heart drops back down to a rate sustainable for normal living and think to myself "Thank Christ the Woman knows whats going on"

Not really lost my key,but a few months back whilst riding home from coffee night on the tankslapper,i noticed when i got home the key was not in the ignition?It was a bit worn and you could take the key out of the ignition whilst it was still turned on.I suspected the key must have come out of the ignition on the way home,but luckily i have a spare planted on the bike,so i could switch it off.
Anyway,last week i was servicing the slapper and low and behold,when i took the tank off,there was the lost key sitting under the tank ontop of the frame.It had been nicely sandwiched there for months.

shit that was lucky rocket,
i lost my spare for a year- then i thought it might turn up when i moved houses- nope no luck there. Then i was sorting some old boxes a few months ago and i found it in someplace i would never have looked. Key hooks are the way to go...

I went to a test day when I had my first busa and they were still kinda rare. Rode up, wandered off, came racing back to find a crowd of guys standing around it saying, 'well if the keys are in it we must be allowed to take it out'. Luckily they'd all been too scared to be the first!

A key hook is where you put your keys- like the back of a door or inside your front door.
Or if you have any body piercings? Can be a safe place to put your key.... :lol:

I should suggest that if anyone doesn't have at least one good spare key, they shoot around to their local Master Locksmiths and get a copy made.
A copy of a good key is only about $10. But a key cut on a blank to code can cost about $50.
If they can't work out what blank to use, they have to dissassemble the ignition and work out the cuts.
Add at least another $50 for that little job.

I recently got a spare from a Suzuki dealer, after giving them a VIN and a key code and waiting a couple of days for the item to turn up, it was a blank, no big deal I just went to the nearest key cutter and copied from the old one. Just wasn't expecting it to be blank.

Anyhows I was on lygon once on walking on the footpath with a few mates when i saw a honda key
an a peter stevens keyring on it,i picked it up,went up to the first guy i saw with a honda jacket,asked him if hes missing hes key,he checked,panicked,looked at me funny then
i gave it to him.
I was in the market for buying too,would of scored myself a new cbr1000 haha.
He was pretty happy though !

A mate of mine from Charleville, Qld replaced the ignition on his shovelhead with a button. Must have figured no one would wanna steal such a leaky old ride.
