no have not got one but must be something special as b4 they were even on the market they were selling on US ebay for up to $20,000 yes corect twenty thousand dollars

sadley yep, don't waste your money mate. $1000 to buy one here and theres nothin worth getting for it that isn't already on the 360. also not backwards compatible (the us ones are but the chip was removed for the oz release, so aparently they are gonn try running an emulator) The software released is only output in 720 as oposed to the same game on the 360 which is displayed in 1080i. overall a massive fuckin let down, it will be worthwhile once they finally get some titles out and even then not for a thousand bucks.


BTW I didn't pay full price but it was close enough and thats still way too much.

Apart from lack of games, PS3 cannot presently access MP3 or video files from your computer via a network, so as to link all your media to the lounge-room from the computer elsewhere. ATM you have to load from cd/dvd or mem card onto the PS3 HD.

AFR review said Sony will not be discouraging software development...so only a matter time before a versatile media player appears like XBMC for the Xbox.

I spent a night playing tennis, Motorstorm, and Gran Turismo HD Concept at mate's - the internet leaderboard makes the timetrial in GT compeling, because you get to compete against the world with rankings updating often. The game's only pre-release demo but looks fantastic even though scenery still uses 2D cardboard cutouts lifted from PS2 GT4.

When GT and Tourist Trophy are out & the thing can access my wireless network to play recorded digital TV/movies etc from my Mac I will get one for sure...games + media player + blu-ray player = it's not bad value, but problem right now only the latter is being fully exploited. Sort out the others, add in the fact it's an internet browser for your lounge-room and I think it will bury the xbox360 and HD-DVD at the same time.

I considered the ps3 for a media centre but with limited hd space, limitations on the type of media you can play etc.. its not worth it.. Besides ignoring blue ray I can build a pc twice as powerful, put it in a theatre case and use it as a full games machine plus media centre.. You may even be able to claim some pc bits on tax.. Can even sit on my couch and download movies from bit torrent while watching another one, or do time shit recording the HD tv card to pc etc.. I suppose if your really into your games, then maybe a ps3 has some value but even then most ps3 and xbox games are available for pc as well.

I sold my PS2 and Xbox 360 on ebay recently in anticipation... but considering the things that I have been told.... I have just had the PC upgraded instead...

I'm with Monyx on this one, When GT and Tourist trophy are released then sure I will buy one but only if the hype has lost its edge and it is a little less coin..

smart arse. all my cars bar the pissy 323 run full dvd systems and the mustang already has a 360 with a hidden power inverter behind the fiberglass sub caseings. I wanted to grab another one for the f'ie cause its a complete nightmare to try and get the one in the stang out (and its good to kill time on while im working on it and am pissed off cause something else has broken)

Sorry about that Maggot, been too busy with work and study so I haven't been logging on much lately. But to let you know the 360 sold for $530.45 plus postage... and I got 120ish for the PS2... not too bad if you ask me... of course for you it would have been a lesser price.

Anyway, I thought that the f'ie was going to be a work truck... What, you finnished the frankenbusa and now you need something new to tinker with???

yeah maybe - but even then the blu-ray disc's they are using will cost & you can't copy them either :( My pc is now nearly 4 years old & it can still run everything thats BRAND new in the games world :) nuff said - stay with ya PC :)
