well i have been reading these boards since it all started and i thought despite all the complaints about suzuki .
i still think my 1999 twice recalled hayabusa is the best thing i have ever ridden !
all manufacturers have recalls
all i know is every time i ride it i smile
some people always look for the worst in a situation just remember it could be worse you could be riding a harley or honda or something
enjoy your hayabusa it's a hell of a machine
0-100 in 3.1 300+kmh individual looks gotta love it
ride safe and enjoy

bluviper - gotta agree with ya.

I still get a buzz every time I am on it - it doesn't wear off. I look for excuses to get on it, and get out there. I can understand people's reactions when they have the frame break / cct failure, and I am thankful that I have not had anything like that. But this is my first Suzuki, and I doubt it will be my last. One recall for me (the first had already been performed before I took delivery), but I have not had to take it in for any "problems" other than that.

- cheesy grin I wear everytime I ride...

hey lookee here ... a thread NOBODY will disagree with .... mind you careful on the Hondas ...I had about 5 or 6 various CBR1000's and none of 'em ever let me down over many many many k's. And for a big bike they ain't slow either ....

Now, as for the Blackbird .....I bought a 'busa..

Was that a Blackbird or a Budgie compared to the Busa

Through a relative, I was offered a new Blackbird without dealer commissions - he was SOO pissed off when I still bought the Busa ... The best bike by far on the market at the time, in my opinion!

I rode both fairly extensively prior to buying the busa and in all reality there is little between the two for general riding. The Honda is just another bike in the looks department and all I could see in the mirrors was my elbows. Don't kid yourselves though, you can loose your licence just as quickly on the bird and it is one very slick and smooth machine.

In the end though the bird just not have that something that the busa has in abundance. Its not just the power advantage its the overall character of the busa that - I think - puts it head and shoulders above the bird and all the others

Just my opinion so NO BLOODY ARGUMENTS !!!

when i was considering a change from my 6 months old VFR in september '99 no dealer had a bird i could test ride, so i bought the busa,,

since than i have a few rides on the bird and whilst its a very fine machine and a bit more touring oriented than the busa, i agree with bmac, it just didn't do it for me, but if there was no busa, i would have gone for the bird,

Earlier this year I traded my 2yr old blackbird in on the bus. Believe me the bird went real hard and the power of the bus didn't appear to be much greater. More grunty in the lower ranges though.

What sold me however was the 'character' of the busa, from the looks to the slightly rough motor ( compared to the s m o o t h honda power ). Hell the best comment I ever got about the blackbird was "nice bike". Just after I got the busa I was told by two teenage girls "that's the sexiest bike I have seen". Hey that made me smile

Love the Busa

Strange, I often get teenage girls doing the same.... and slightly older girls too.... there is omething about the bus that seems to make girls giggle and flick their hair. Go figure.

I rode the bird when I was trying to talk myself out of the bus. My feeling is that at this level of bike, they are all fantastic and it comes down to personal choice. I did find the bird a little wallowy (not sure that is a word) though. The one that got me was the ZX12! Kawasaki got it right (finally), shame it is so damn ugly. The bus still gives me the grins.
