Hi Greg64

I am very sorry to hear that your little girl has this rare disease and that you have already suffered the loss of your little boy.

I hope and pray that somehow you and your family can find the strength to carry on and I wish you a more positive future.

I have a close friend who lives in Queensland whose 3 children were the first in Australia to have been diagnosed with a very rare disease which unfortunately has already taken the life of his youngest son at the age of 16, totally crippled his middle daughter who now only has a relatively short time left to live but has not materialised into anything more than a dark spot on his eldest daughters neck.

Somehow he and his wife have managed to find the strength to live through that horrific trauma with lots of support from friends and the community and I hope you can and will do the same.

As a parent I can imagine what you must be experiencing and my heartfelt sympathies goes out to you and your family.

If you would like to contact my friend and his wife to share some of your feelings I would be very happy to make the contact just send me a private email at aramat@dingoblue.net.au
I am sure the contact would be very beneficial.

Take good care.
Cheers
Les

Hey Greg,
I read your note just now and then Les's reply and thought, shit I'm lucky. We take so many things for granted some times. Kids and family are a classic and I've been somewhat guilty of that I guess from time to time.
What I'd been worried about today was weather or not I was using the right fuel in the bike. Not so important when you consider wider issues like last week or closer to home issues that you guys have faced and are facing every day.
Richard,
Maybe we could organise a couple of rides? Maybe one in Sydney and Melbourne or where ever and charge an admission fee or such like, all proceeds to the charity Greg mentions. Ya never know, every little bit helps.
Heidi mentioned how we can help? Well moral support we can give in spades but maybe a little folding would help as well? Any thoughts / suggestions ?
Regards
Steve...

Great idea Steve,

I don't mind putting in my bit, and what better excuse needed to attend a ride day!
On that subject anyone in Melbourne likely to be out for a ride this weekend? Short notice I know, but I've got this weekend off and at this stage the weather looks good. Post if you're interested.

Cheers, Scott.

PS. Keep the chin up Greg.

Frosty - Good idea. Maybe a November ride (i.e post Grand Prix) which also gives us a bit of time to rouse up some interest.

Greg - I will contact you if we decide to go ahead to find out the name of the fund-raiser (charity?) that this Pink pig thing is in aid of.

Scott - Saturday this weekend could be a goer for us. Sunday, not too good...

I'll run a Canberra one. It will have to include OTHER bikes (sorry) otherwise it could just be me on my lonesome.

G'day,

I just wanted to say that it is FANTASTIC to see that there are some people that care about others misfortune and realise how lucky most of us are.

that's cool heidi, when it comes to charity one musn't get solobikeaphobic! in fact, ALL brands should be encouraged to participate, it would a fantastic treat for them to ride alongside the mighty busa beast,,

the charity ride sounds great entry fee should be anything you can manage over 10 bucks and if you can't make it, than anything over 20 bucks (in my opinion) - all suggestions considered,,

cheers

That date is good for me, I get every third weekend off, and that's one of them.
Richard, I have just made a separate post about your interest in a possible ride this Saturday.

After thought - is that the cup weekend? If so, should we avoid it?

Great Idea for the charity ride and the cause is definately worth while
just a suggestion
try and find a celebrity or two to go on the ride it helps to gain extra numbers, you will find people outside of the Hayabusa Club will come and make the donations even higher
And if you really want to make work for yourselves
you could arrange it so that many different Brands of bike clubs are involved
All invited by the hosts (Australian Hayabusa Club)
I am a Committee Member of the Ulysses Club in Fremantle WA
and this is what we have in the pipeline at the moment,
we have found that the amount of money likely to be donated has increased dramatically

Such an event will Highlight,Hayabusa`s BikeRiding and a worthwhile Charity
and cause the organizers no end of headaches and satisfaction
