What are the loudest cans?

Why would you use gixxer 750/1000 pegs instead of stock?

Why get a complete new exhaust kit if the main power and weight benefits come from the muffler?

Who does good work on after market crap like huggers, tail end, re-maps etc in Melbourne?

Do workshops do the air-box mod and ram air sealing or are these best done at home?

Does getting raised handlebars mean getting more wind blasted from a more upright sitting position? (what about with bubble windscreen)

Maybe just dumb answers! Here's mine:

What are the loudest cans?

Those that are on a Harley (or Firestorm Mark's VTR).

Why would you use gixxer 750/1000 pegs instead of stock?

1)If you have long legs they can lower your feet slightly and thereby drop your knees a bit to a more desirable area of the tank.
2)Also may give you slightly better ground clearance if you do not wish to drag the pegs.
3) Some claim they look better though personally i like the chunky stockies.

Why get a complete new exhaust kit if the main power and weight benefits come from the muffler?

They don't. The stock exhaust is very heavy from start to finish and also has "thingies" in it that reduces the flow in the exhaust pipe itself. Plus by putting on a new exhaust you can go to a 4-2-1 system which is better for an in line 4.

Ball's in Sunshine (9364 8993) or Pete's Pitstop in Narre Warren (9799 0531)

You can do it yourself if you know what you are doing, otherwise Ball's or Pete's can do it for you. Are you considering the large or small airbox mod?

Put a double bubble screen on it at your earliest convenience...best money you will ever spend on the busa. Can't speak about the helibars, don't have them, but there was this thread on them recently.

Allo All,

making my first post with also a bit of an ask for all of you as well

This Friday I pick up my Busa in Melbourne. Then ride it back to Sydney on the Sunday.

I have had a pretty good read around here on the boards but I was wanting to get a good first timer list going for the busa, things to look out for and also check over. Now the bike is my old mans who just can not afford it anymore and if I am used to the beast then I may see if I can join in the ride on the 27th of this month would be great !!

Raz just 1 word of advice from me about your new purchase if you are riding at night do not hold the throttle on 9,000 rpm and drop the clutch unless you are an astronomer cause all you gonna see is the stars!!!!

cheers for the tip.. however I don't think I'll be even pushing over the 5 grand mark well......not yet anyways

I have a pretty good riding background, but I have not really had something this powerful.
I did go through the RGV stage awhile when I a fair bit younger and my last bike which I miss so much was a FZ750 which some prick stole and burnt out on me.

So I am hella looking forward to my ride from Melbourne here to Sydney, the Busa was put in for new rear rubber & a service. The bike it self is @16,000km so its hardly even run in yet.

As I said before if all goes well and I have the time I'd love to meet up with you all for a ride !!

As always, answers result in more questions. I'll save 'em up and dump 'em later on. Just some clarifyers for moment....

I really need to know what are the loudest after market pipes, ie. what will make my busa sound the loudest. Are Remus louder than Akro's, are Yoshi's louder but have a shit note? Someone mentioned Roo racing pipes?

I would like some more leg room, will the gixxer 1000 pegs do it? Apparently they bolt straight on but the 750 pegs need modification.

What's the difference between the big and small air box mod?

Does anyone know why the footpegs have different sized weights? The different sized hero pegs is self explanatary, but why the weights? And does changin' footpegs make a handling of vibration difference?

Met a bloke once at raceway suzuki who claimed he had put Omraes on his bike because they were the noisiest, said they didn't do anything for performance but they sure were noisy. Local made products.
