Front number plates - VIC protest ride
#1
A subject close to our hearts. As many as possible should attend. From Netrider.........

"A Government Waste Awareness Ride has been organised for Fri, July 18th @ 4:00pm, looping through Melbourne's CityLink Tunnels.

The ride is to bring awareness to the general public and media of the monetary waste the Victorian government is using under the disguise of motorcycle and scooter safety. $14 Million to introduce front number plates for speed camera's to catch an extra 10 riders and CityLink tolling .. all to gain a measley $300,000. Additionally, in almost 12 months nothing has been spent of our $50 'safety' levy, and now they want to spend it on general road maintenance.

The ride has been jointly organised by netrider.org.au
(www.netrider.org.au) and the MRAA (www.mraa.org.au).

www.netrider.org.au/specialevents/?page=awareness has the full details, including a download PDF A4 flyer for printing, publishing, and distributing.

Please spread the word far and wide of this ride to your
subscribers/members/readers and use our numbers to show the Victorian State Bracks Labour Government that riders will not tolerate this ridiculous waste. Post it to your website, send it to your mailing list, forward it to your club members, or review it in your magazine.

Cheers,
www.netrider.org.au"

See you all there. :"> :"> :">

2 hrs of loopin through the tunnels with hundreds of other bikes, terrorising thousands of car users (all in the name of protest) - I'll be there!

Damn I love this country.

(Just too bad about the politicians, taxi-trivers, truckies, lawyers, land-hungry "indigineous folk" (lets be nice), increasing income tax, the gst, tourists, speed camera's... etc.)

Yeah, cool!
I'd be right there, how infuriating is this B.S.!! Ararargh.
Can I ride without plates and no licence during a protest?

Welcome back Jon. Nearly half way there! It must be a slow death, I remember my 6 months. Ouch, what a killer.
So your probably clocking up as many Klms as other members with licences at the moment.
Take care, only 6 months and 17 days as of tomorrow.
How time flies! (NOT!)
Cheers, Phil. Riding not hibernating.
