Sorry to burst your bubble Rod, (or is that cut my own throat), but at the end of the day, regardless of if someone is of different gender or production of ride, if some form of benefit is originated from this board, correct me if I'm wrong, it is a discussion board isn't it, and Charlie as a former owner, and now with advice that may just be able to provide someone with a smoother, faster and safer ride, should be quite welcome to give that assistance, as should anyone.
The big picture is, we all ride motorcycles. And the more the better, and the better those bikes are and the better the riders are, the BETTER. I for one really appreciate some of the info that comes up here, I appreciate even more that I have a wonderful woman beside me, who can not only ride, but can ride really well, but more importantly wants to ride even better, and if someone here can pass on any of their knowledge and expertise, I welcome that. Cheers Goldie. Proud Busa owner and rider, proud supporter of my beautiful lady, and proud advocate of impassing useful knowledge on to like minded people (albeit, of the opposite gender and riding persuassion).

Hey you haven't 'burst' my bubble. The point im tring to make is ,someones saying there gsxr 750 will kill a busa in corners and another on a super motad or aprillia is saying like wise, but your not compairing apples with apples for a start!A big heavy sports tourer vs a race rep sports bike ,gee i wonder which one would be better in corners? Also and more importantly got to take into account rider ability, this is probably 90%.I am not a chauvinist,as i have 3 women friends who ride and i think that its great.Next we will have guys getting on here saying how great there cars are!

What wrong with my car?
I only talked about my 750 cause someone asked why i downgraded. And it has that famous hand reel dangling of the back.

Good luck with the Busa search Michelle.
One thing I reckon can catch out the inexperienced is the slipper clutch. It's designed to stop compression lock up but a side effect is a really snatchy clutch if you have too many revs on board. It caught me out when I was daydreaming at the lights one time - I grabbed a handful of throttle and let out the clutch and the damn thing near tore out my arms! Not trying to dissuade you, just something to keep in mind.

What was this thread about anyway?
Oh yeah...me and my quest to seek greatness, or something like it... Thanks for the info on the throttle Splat...I'm sure I'll have lots of learning curves on a Busa... Haven't even tried to sell the Harley yet...just been to damn busy (work, kids, life, you know...) My husband did put a new 2003 on hold for me this week; gave the guy a deposit the day I found out insurance is pretty high, so we've just decided to wait 'til I sell the Harley, then maybe buy a used Busa...I've found several in the States, from 2000 to 2002, that are reasonably priced...the insurance isn't too bad for the older models, so maybe I won't be getting that beautiful silver/grey 2003 after all... Anyone want a yellow Harley?! How about one slightly used kidney? Need money for the insurance! Oh, and guys...stop fighting on my thread Can't we all just get along? Have fun - Michelle |
