Brackets are a challenge, since I don't have a lathe. Front fittings simple, but unless I use the original rear bits, I'll have to turn up three bars and shape them a bit. Then fit them onto a plate etc. Oh well, keeps me busy!
Will do photos soon of brackets.

Happy New Year!!
Hope that 2007 is absolutely great for those with Busa's, oh, and their families!
The seat!
What a production. The plug was OK (I think).

But don't ask me to do fibreglass!
The first layer was fine except the resin went off just a tad quick. Didn't quite get things done. So tried a second batch of resin and tried to lay up a second layer of glass!
What a f*&^ing disaster! Bloody resin might go hard some time next week!
Still, betterv than nothing so hopefully will be able to produce a seat later this week!

I'm not happy with the mould, so will talk to a fibre glasser today. Maybe get him to make a new one. Then see what he'll charge to knock one or 10 out.
There's at least another week's work, as I need to add brackets to the mould to locate the fitting plates that go inside the seat front and back. Hoping that I'll have a seat out on the bike before end January!

Well, the mould I made was scrapped, and the guy is going to make a professional one. With jigs and frames etc. Should be good to turn out a number of proper seat moulds. Bad news is the $600 to get it there, but hopefully the seat cost won't be too high and I can sell some. Going to get a number of brackets made up as well so it should be a nice product in the end.
Only money after all!
