I'm not sure if it's bin posted up here but it's a good view

I think the Busa holds it own for a bike of it's age

the only problem I have with these test's is that they are testing against the busa that has been cut back from its 99 model - if they were to test it against one that has had restrictions removed - its be closer I reckon "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300"

the only restriction on the late model busa is top speed, and the zx14 is restricted also

thought there was a power one thrown in the busa as well? "Busa riders always count in three's.... 100, 200, 300"

After 6 years it's about time Kawasaki beat the hayabusa at something - it's been embarrassing pretending the ZX12 was an equal, even after a revamp, poor sales and not being as good as the Kawasaki 1k and 600 bikes as a product.

ZX 14 might have the numbers, but not enough to want it over a busa. It looks awful and lacks class. I can't believe Kawasaki doesn't transfer the stlye of the 600 up to its bigger bikes.

In real world riding you can't use the power so other things have to count. I'd call this test a draw as they say the busa won on the road and the drags, while the Kawa got power and top speed, - busa won the ones that count for road riding.

Kawasaki letting themselves down again, at best they can claim matching Suzuki 6 years later. C'mon Kawasaki, you're embarassing.

Guys, get your hands of your dicks. At the speeds these bike go, who really gives a f#**ck. You are not going to be doing them anyway. Does it really matter. Both are great bikes. I've got a Busa (2005 model) and I love it. I would love a Zx14, if I had one. The issue, that the ZX14 is a better bike because it is a 2006 build and Suzuki haven't updated their model, is irrelevant. Accept the fact that the 2006 Busa is slightly less powerful, but still a fantasitic bike and you'll sleep better at night. At the going price of $15990 (plus on road costs) from Peter Stevens in Melbourne, you can't go wrong, compared to the price of a new Kwaka. Enjoy the bike for what it is and don't get caught up with all the bullshit... that my dick's bigger than yours. If I've offended anybody, I apologise becaue I've had a c..t of a day and after a bottle or chardy, I feel like venting. Stay Upright guys....there's too many of us going down lately.

gotta agree, this topics been flogged to death.

oh fergus, when you said Quote:You are not going to be doing them anyway in relation to top speed, speak for yourself. I know quite a few members who do (allegedly) them on a regular basis. at the track of course....

Of course. Who is going to admit to doing those speeds on the road. Let's face it - all of us push the envelope. And we (should) accept the fact, that if we get caught, we accept the consequences. If you don't, then you're a fuckwit. The point I was trying to make is, that both the Busa and the Kwaka are great bikes. It's a personal preference. I used to ride Hondas, I've had two Blackbirds, which were fabulous bikes. I still prefer the Bird to the Busa in looks, but the Busa goes better and handles better. I'm a poorer man for riding the Busa, as the old girl goes through f*&^ing tyres like there is no tomorrow. That's a fact that I accept and am prepared to wear it, (the cost that is) to enjoy the bike. You are correct in saying that this issue has been done to death and let's move on.

Whats with the "get your hands off your privates" comment ?

No one comes here because they don't like the busa. They come here because they own (and enjoy) their bike or they have an affinity with it. Sometimes they come here to vent, sometimes to share a story, sometimes to defend their .

But in any event - its a busa site, so, geeze.... call me silly, but I would have thought a bit of loyalty and bias might be evident in the posts. Expected even. But overall, you'd have to say it's fairly balanced.

You'll notice no-one says anything negative about the ZX14, but rather they lament the fact that Suzuki hasn't upgraded the busa. Yes, there is a common defence of the bus on the basis that its old technology - but maybe you misread those comments as sour grapes, insecurity or looking for an excuse ? I have always read them as an expression of pride - in the enduring quality of our ride and in the fact that even after all this time, the busa is still the bike that all the others are STILL trying to knock off its perch.

So maybe we don't all have our hands down our pants, but on our hearts ?

Beautifully put Astro as per your usual standard of posts. We all love the Busa and I am sure I can speak for most people on the board and say we have a love of all motorcycles.

Common on guys, cut me a bit of slack. I did say I'd had a few chardys and I was only venting. The point I was trying to make was that they are both great bikes. There will always be a new production that knocks off the current champion. For years the Hayabusa ruled the roost in terms of horsepower and downright grunt and rideability. I've just got back home from racking up another 300 klicks today and this bike never ceases to amaze me with its overall power, stability and fun factor. Even if the Kwaka takes a second off the Busa on the drag strip, does it really matter in the real world. Will your world change tomorrow because of this fact. I think not. Enjoy the Busa for what it is... a great bike and be rest assured that come the future, Suzuki will eventually update it and produce something that will knock of the Kwaka. There's my two bobs worth.
