Most of it has been reduced from the pivot point NO BOX to tie in the braces and if anything more has been added to the area around the axle due to larger aluminium sections it would appear.soooo you might want to have another think about that claim. <i></i>
$1400+ for a non extended swingarm.. sorry, but the only reason to get a new swingarm is go longer .. my 2cents.

For someone who hasn,t weighed and held the 2 swingarms side by side,you certainly have alot of opinions gazza.I know what you're saying and i,m not an idiot.I,ve told you before about being a netnanny,it seems you can,t help yourself.Instead of criticizing others under the excuse: of warning fellow members,grows some balls and have an opinion on your own ideas.Judging from the shadows appears pretty spineless to me. <i></i>
When I hear people tell me they aren't an idiot..they usualy are. Address the issues and stick with them and move on. If you come on hear and make claims just simply back them up with the facts. I can tell you have a high level of understanding so it should be easy for you to go that one step further and share that knowledge .

Those arms are a beautiful unit and in my opinion worth every cent but if you make a claim you should have the data to back it up. The manufacturer should have data as to compartive weight and strength and you guys as distributors should have that info on hand for just these occasions. How nice would it be to say f*** off Gazza these arm are ---kg---lighter and ---%--- more rigid Bruce

Tensile Strength before Welding H30= 310 mpa,

Tensile Strengh after Welding H30 Alloy 225 mpa
After welding 7020 Alloy 315 mpa 40% Better
Fatigue Strength H30 alloy 102
Fatigue Strenghth 7020=125 22.5% better
I weighed stock swingarm compared with JMC= 3.5 kgs lighter.
And most stock arms are 7000 alloy(whic most are made from) which is inferior to the H30 Alloy

Just a note.....
I dont know much about metals nor the diff in how strong they are - all info I would like to know about - but also info I normally would not have thought of - so I guess it helps to have people here ask those kind of questions - even if they know the answer to them as it helps the rest of us think about what we buy & why.
Also just so I am clear lol my question about the feed back from the rear was valid - not knowing a whole lot about how different weighted swing arms or how much flex there is in them - I have no idea how this hampers or changes feed back from the rear tyre & always thought it had more to do with your spring & dampener setup......
so count me as a student who wishes to learn more ;) if you don't mind - could you explain that part??
