I have just paid $784 with RACV. 39 years old and rating 1.
QBE offered $701 though they had plenty of restrictions.

I would like to have given Frith's a call but was unable to find a number for them. Can anyone help?

Finally got a quote from Frith's. I had to wait until they thought I had turned 40 before they would even talk to me.
Value of bike $16,000 (2000 model)clean driving record, rating 1, less than $8,000 kms per year, not used for daily commuting and is garaged.
All the above gave me a premium of $498.00 with a $350.00 excess.
This looks like a pretty good deal

My renewal with I.C.Friths was $474.00 and that includes Stamp Duty and Broker Fees. Excess is also only $350. Not bad considering the Busa is my first bike in 25 years and my last bike was a Yamaha T D 500. BUSA RULES

Do they assume that if you are older, you are safer?

Good price Glenn, what's the sum insured?

Richard, on their ad they show 'old farts on cruisers, I suppose the statistics must show lower claim rate for over 40's, obviously hyper sports bikes may not have existed when they started business, so they probably havent quite taken into account the over 40 hoons. Let's hope (for the 'ol farts at least) that they don't change their policy.

Let's compare and find out whose the best for Busa insurance in Oz. I have heared that some are placing the bus in a special category and not cheap.

As to my premium. I have fully comp insured for $18.000, by I.C.Friths Ins. Brokers for "over 40's" and their premium is $588 on rating 1, (ie 60% discount). However the buggars wont insure anyone that has had 5 road offences over the last 5 years, which is quite rediculous in this day and age with the prolification of cameras and revenue raising. I have had 4 and was told if theres 1 more this year they won't be able to re-new.

Have you got thru Swann, Western Underwriters or RACV? Talking of RACV they wanted a rediculous $1600 for rating 1, they've lost the plot.

So come on and post your details or experiences.

Hi All,

I'm with NEIB (Stanthorpe QLD 07 4681 2877).

34 yrs young
60% NCB
about $900 give or take (was insuring two bikes)

I'm quite happy with the service and made a no nonsense claim with them in Jan 01.

I've heard that they might be cutting back on under 40s

Not happy John,
