What happened to the forum?
#1
I think I should explain what has happened with the forum and the new look.
I update the forum every now and then to keep it running correctly.
Usually a simple process.
Except this time they have had a major version change from 1.6 to 1.8 and I did not realise it would effect templates but it does.
In fact after reading about what is involved in trying to get a 1.6 template to work with 1.8 almost every thread i read out there suggested to upgrade to new template system as 1.6 does not work with 1.8 version.

Once an update is done unfort there is no reversal. You can't go back so we had no choice.
So using the 1.8 system theme, I have made the new template match as best I can to the header.

There are lots of coding changes to the new version that should improve performance. Because of our host we need a very lean forum to keep from getting errors etc.
I think this new version is the leanest we have had because of the way it operates.

So bottom line is we now have a lean modern forum.
Sorry about not much notice but as I say we had no choice in the end.

It may take a little time to get used to but I think in the end the new look may grow on us.
It's clean, modern and simple to use.
