Spine problems suck the big one mate.. had my neck plated and fused a few years ago. The specialists wants to do the next 2 vertebra down but told her to f#@k off. I can put up with the pain in my arms, legs and lower back from the pressure the discs are putting on my spinal cord for a lot longer yet. Makes long distance riding a bitch though LOL

No specific cause.... Neurologist said it looks to have been general wear n tear causing herniation of the disc into the centre of the vertebra rather than out like normally happens. This herniation has then reduced the fluid flow around hte central nervous system (spinal cord) and as the disc calcifies (hardens) it slowly squeezes teh nerves causing all sorts of stuff through out my body. Before I had my C3/4/5 fused I lost 80% of strength in right arm/hand and was in severe pain (made my previous compression fracture seem like a stubbed toe LOL).

Now my elbows feel like continual tennis elbow or strained joint, hands get pins n needles very quckly and I am bak to 50/60% of original strength. The next operation has a 55+% chance of putting me in a wheel chair
