Thanks again for the offers of help and your thoughts
Had a chance to clean up and check out the bike wiring, front wheel, bodywork, forks, gauges and controls, are damaged, but frame, etc is good still has 1/2 tank of fuel, it will ride again Already have wiring and gauges on there way Shredder and Mono have sent care packages for which i am most gratefull and will help heaps in the short term poor 750 will not rise again but already found a donor bike to transfer all the good stuff into Insurance has looked at sheds and crops so far, still to have vehicle guys drop in for the tractors and other machinery , landline is back and powercore is working fast to get the new lines in Can't believe just how supportive everyone is and feeling a little guilty that an individual that suffers a major catastrophy in there life would not get the same care as a district wide event like this
Hey maj, good to see you back on site....
You forget you reap what you sow. And in your case you are only getting back the help and support you constantly offer to us weekend mechanics and backyard grease monkeys. I for one always enjoy reading any tips, advise and comments from you on all topics as I know there will normally be a gem in there for me too... If I could afford it I would send you my 01 so you got another project bike to play with. Your work is pure magic dude... You are welcome to any excess parts I have got too Fingers crossed your insurance all works out, glad too see you still got all your fingers and toes (can't say much about your mind as you've got the same mental problems as us all... You own a busa) and I am looking forward to seeing your next masterpiece when unveiled.

Hey mate as ive said in my pm i have a heap of parts if you need anything. Your advice and support has probably saved people on this board more money than the sum of the parts we would send you if you want them.
Regards
Dan

Re: Insurance, surely the 750 and Gen II Busa would qualify as farm bikes?
15-02-2014, 07:41am
The bikes will not be too expensive, a mate was trying to sell his tracky 750, so i said we would take it
The internal stuff is fine and the big money items if i had to replace it i still have Pans old forks and brakes in a small side shed, and a gen 1 wheel is kicking around here too, so the bike will be wearing earlier generation stuff untill i can replace it There is even a set of Ohlins with a damaged tube in the same shed that i should just get the replacement tube for and fit or sell to buy a set of original forks
Just picked up the current copy of AMCN.....Greg hope this helps

I'm sure if Greg's BSB details were put up more than a few of us would happily add a few bucks into the account.

Thanks again Pete and Tony , also a special thanks again to Mono , Shredder & Bones for parts and accessorys that will help immensely with the rebuild , Bruce and Heidi who dropped everything and came down to help with the clean up
There help and the thoughts of those on forums and who rang were a huge help to get through the shock of loosing a lot of the last 10 yrs work I went to the salt but not competing , great break from the view here, and a chance to plan the future with a clear head Rebuilding now ,old sheds are bare earth now , new workshop for the bikes planned separate to the farm machinery shed (that one will be huge) , and am not writing off getting to the US again this year just yet , have unused entrys from last year i am not cancelling yet Time more than money is my issue with racing, BlackArt Racing was involved in a commercial last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyyzV2jD1sM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz--RqXwOn8 and still have funds which we are not digging too deep into for this rebuild as that is earmarked for a motorcycle streamliner . Hopefully that bike will be capable of 350+ mph , first public pic of this Already have a replacement bike for the 750 and part way through transferring parts across from the remnants of the old New LSR bodywork is coming for the busa which was otherwise mostly undamaged So here is aiming for 280mph this year :) |
