Phillip Is Track day!

Halfway thru the day. Only 70 riders so plenty of track time. Sunny day. The panabusa is just great-everything Pan said it would be. Took me until the third session to get on to it, but going good now! Having an awesome day in every way!!

That's a hard days work!
Feel rooted.
But it's amazing how much better you get through the day.
I felt 100% smoother through the turns towards the end of the day, and braking a lot later. Awesome brakes!
Unfortunately there's no timing, so nothing to compare with. But I did find out about (hidden) Qstarz GPS loggers and getting an old Android phone to read the Bluetooth data - how cool is that?
Pretty sure my times were nothing special, and going by another guys times I don't reckon I got anywhere near 2:00?
The bike was great and a lot different to my road Busa.
Still can't get my head around no mirrors; got carved up a few times!
Another run a Flip Island and then I reckon I'll be ready for the Sydney track day?
That's great value and I reckon they do a good job running the track day.
Met plenty of nice people too - and (of course!) one arsehole.
Satisfying to see that he went home at the end of the day with a trailer full of bits!
The only damage I got was one mudflap fell off my trailer!

Pics?

When you do get the GPS happening, the best I did was a few 1:56's, with 281km/h down the straight, but that was before Carbon wheels...

If you have an android phone with in built GPS you can use an app called RaceChrono. It has the tracks already built in with the start finish line, so it does all the work for you. I haven't been back to the track since I've got an android phone, so haven't had a chance to test it out myself.

I was rapped when one of the workers there said he could time me on my laps, unfortunately it was in the morning and I got a whole lot quicker in the afternoon too. If I remember correctly I was 42 secs slower per lap than Stoner lol

Quite a few guys had that, looks great! I was told to pick up a cheap second hand android and not worry about a SIM card - just use it as a lap timer. Seems a good idea?

My daughter Amber pissed me off. After telling her about my legendary laps she tells me she does 1:58's in her Porsche 944 challenge car - wanker!

I just left my phone in my pocket and it worked great for lap times. 1st and last lap was buggered as it picks a random point on the track. Was called "diablo" free android app. worked great. 2nd session I layed it flat under the hump so it would be more accurate with lean angles, it super imposes these over the track(google earth) with speeds continuously around the circuit as well as recording lap times. - No cheating with top speeds down the main straight, running bigger rear sprocket I was indicating 300 but it showed only 268 max.

You should reminder her that this is...
1. your first time on the panabusa
2. your first time at the track
3. even walking a busa around the track shows more class than driving a porche LOL
