Pakistan Leathers

Anyone had experience (not just opinions!) with the cheap to buy leathers available out of Pakistan?

I'm considering them for track use so I'm wondering if thry are up to it or just look the part. Anyone had/have them?

Well considering that a lot of leathers by the majors come out of China and vietnam, I would consider products from Pakistan would be a step up in quality.

My bro' bought some cheap (single-stitched) ones from paki......they tore open easily on a low-impact off!!

Before you lay your cold hard ca$h down, ask the seller if ALL the seams are - at very least - DOUBLE-stitched, and for best impact resistance >> preferably TRIPLE-stitched!!!

For my money, I'd avoid the single-stitched stuff....coz it just don't work when ya really need it to!!

I think you should foremost consider what are you risking by buying some el cheapo suit from a nation more known for riding donkeys than motorbikes. Especially for the track use where, lets face it, the chance of an off is much greater than on the street and at much highier speed. Personally I would go for the best protection I could as the few hundred dollars saving on a suit may cost you a serios injury or health.

i had a 1 piece suit a few yrs ago
price was right & after a few alterations it fitted great.
was good to ride in & it held up to a turn 1 off @ the creek .
Then it was cut off me

Had some but never crashed in them, which is the only true test. Personally I'd buy some recognised brand off the net from the USA. Sportbiketrackgear.com etc.

i think my M2R jacket is made in pakistan its lasted well and double stiched etc

As above check the stitching
i had a set of cheap leathers, slow speed off opened one of the bum panels as the stitching wore through
Pakistan makes some good leathers and bad, some of the brand name stuf is made there

Considering you can get Aplinestars 1 piece suits for around $900, or shark leathers suits for $500, I don't know why you'd bother wasting money on s**t from Pakistan.

I considered the same that some of the name brands are made in Pakistan so at least some of the manufacturers there would know what they are doing. The challenge is to find a non-name brand product of the same or similar build quality without the brand name mark-ups.

The other option is second hand name brand gear here. New Alpine Stars or other gear for the track is outside my budget due to other priorities like keeping mortgage payments going (I know - priorities are all wrong) and I would prefer not to get pissed off if my track gear gets a few scuffs and scars.

Sportbiketrackgear.com looks close to the mark. Shark leathers start at $399 and are made in Pakistan. FC-moto.de has been a good one for me in the past as well.

Previous Dri-Rider gloves I have had were labeled made in Pakistan.

Lasted for 4 or 5 years , (no offs) until 6 days a week use wore thru the leather.

Wether what you are looking @ is made in the same shop or buy his relation down the road who bought all his 2nd hand equipment when he upgraded is another matter.
