Benaraby All Bike 26th August
. Racebikes under 10 secs; Pro-Street for registered true street bikes run on a pro tree no dial in. Must be true streeters. We want to find out who is the fastest street ridden bike around. plus 3 cyls and up; two cylinders and single cylinders for the other three brackets. All are DYO except for Pro Street and all brackets, including pro street will be round robin. Highest points/nearest dial in in last round will decide finalists. In pro street however, if more than two end up on three wins, the quickest two will fight out the final...
Regards Richard......QLD the place to race..

Richard, is Benarby in SE QLD?
Is this a 1/4 mile track?
And is it "up to scratch", or is it like a street surface?
When you say street bikes, are we talking street tyres, or slicks can be used?
Leonard, are you keen to go for a quick run up on the Friday arvo, come home Sunday morning?
Anyone else keen?

Benarby isn't far from Gladston. As far as I know it's a full 1/4 mile .
I got sent this info from gnomesmuggler@OZ Drag Bike
Yes, the idea is that they be true street ridden and registered bikes. Not modified bikes that are race bikes and don't even see the street or have been kept registered but never ridden on the street. If your bike is a true street bike, no problems. Meeting director on the day will be a bike orientated guy and will have final say if doubts are raised about the true streetability of any bike. The bracket will be on a pro tree with riders with most win / lose points after round robin going to final. If more than 2 on three wins or even points, the two quickest will go to the final as it is all about finding the quickest true street bike.
I have just about finalised the program and will post further details on this forum in coming days.
Thanks for your interest, it will be a great meet. As well as quite a number coming up from Brisbane

Holy shit!! I didn't think it was that far North!!
How long do you think it would take from Sydney Richard, we did Willowbank to home in 10 hours, if that helps.

Hey Richard
Would you call my Turbo Bike Streeter, I ride it every day, well I do again now since putting it back together properly from the Paint Job.
I am looking to come up to this one and try my luck, I have a bit more work to sort things out but should be right to go.
Might be bringing a few people along too.

Your bike looks like Grants, so I dont think you will any
problems. It looks like it'll be a good meet. I've always wanted
to have shot at a Pro tree...cant wait

What about camping at the track?
How far from town for accommodation if not?

I dont think camping will be a problem, best to email the
strip and find out. I was going to camp in my trailer any
way. Benarby's only a small town so I dont think there
will be that many Hotels to stay at. I'v only ever driven
thru there and still haven't raced there yet

Cas, Benraby raceway is a great facility.
It's 1/4 mile.
Having said that, being used to Sydney or Willowbank you will definately call it a country track.
Traction can be good and bad but you'll be surprised how good it can be. And during the Winter months the air can be awesome as well.
As far as distance from Sydney....well that's another thing.
Back when I used to ride long trips, the first time took me 18 hours....I got it down to 13.5 hours going the inland way, but I was on my own and there were no stops....That was back in 1988 on my way back from the Bi-centennial rally in Canberra....Let's just say the police weren't as vigilant then...
Not long before that I had done Gladstone to Newcastle and back in a weekend going the coast road, but I picked up a mate in Newcastle and we swapped back and forth riding while the other one slept as pillion(thank god for gearsack racks) ......It's a LONG way mate
Last week Al Herrimans Timblin Chassis Funnybike ran a 1.15 60 footer and a 4.13 half track.....What does that tell you about traction and a properly set-up bike.....
I hope you guys get up there one day. The people are fantastic, the racing is warm and friendly and the stress is low...You'll get to see how the other half races when they don't have a WSID or Willowbank in their backyard.
