one of the "average" riders in our group rides a 2012 zx14, and his first ever pass on a bike at the dragstrip he reeled off a mid 10 with nothing but pipes, followed by a couple more, forum member grizzly along with his gen2 also rides a bmw S1000r, wich is also running low 10's with just pipes, with the sort of performance the other manufacturers are coming out with, i hope Suzuki are working on something big
there, can is open :P

10s have been the norm for litre sportbikes, and bikes like fz1 etc.
i dont think anyone is going to come up with a 8sec bike in the near future. i think a bike like the busa/zx14 can do 9-10s and go crusin for a 1000kms 2 up ,live long lives and do a lot of other things like corner . its just bike norm these days. we get value for money! as opposed to cagers who need a gtr35 skyline as a production car to match these numbers but i thik most ppl are content with driving a camry.they are not concerned with 400m numbers. the people turned on by fast vehicles are a rare breed, the rest lead mundane , banal lives on the road!

I see where your coming from storm, but not the point i was trying to make,
My point being, if i was going to upgrade to a new bike tomorow, why would i buy an outdated 2013 gen2, over bikes wich are proving bang for buck, to be superior Dont get me wrong i love the suzi's, wich is why i want to see them retaliate (20-01-2013, 04:24pm)jamdonut Wrote:(20-01-2013, 12:43pm)Skidmarx Wrote: one of the "average" riders in our group rides a 2012 zx14, and his first ever pass on a bike at the dragstrip he reeled off a mid 10 with nothing but pipes, followed by a couple more, forum member grizzly along with his gen2 also rides a bmw S1000r, wich is also running low 10's with just pipes, with the sort of performance the other manufacturers are coming out with, i hope Suzuki are working on something big Ya thats the one my mate bought, he's a relatively fresh rider, he spent 2500k's on a cb400, then strait onto the zx14 and running 10's, stock length and hight, yes id expect these times from a big bike with a good rider, but a novice riders first pass on a dragstrip on a bike? Thats impressive

Absolutely I agree skidmarx. The 2014/15 can be like the 05 gixxrr1000.radical and blow the opposition away.200 kgs/220hp.auto throttle blipper, titanium exhaust, ABS, creature comforts like heated grips, 12 v socket, brembos, wave rotors. Would love 1.

The Kawasaki motor and green limited edition paintjob on the 2014 Hayabusa.
Would it be a Kwakabusa or a Hayasaki. Not to open up a can of worms or anything.

I think they should give it cruise control. I took a Triumph Explorer 1200 for a ride and the cruise control was awesome. It would help to keep the licence, unless sitting on the pillion seat :)
A full trip computer with fuel economy / distance to empty, etc. and maybe a flash modern dash, the analogue dash is getting a bit old in my opinion. BPF forks, adjustable foot pegs and heated grips maybe?

2011 10r - 207hp & 198kg wet. Traction control & Abs.

Im quite suprised there isnt a "Touring spec production Busa".
Yam, Kwak and others have done it. more upright position, higher screen, factory luggage, cruise control, Nothing i'd want or buy, but Kwak have proved there's a market (a large one in the US) with their Kawasaki GTR 1400 Concours, and a lot of the R&D has already been done with the Busa that is already a proven product with a good following.

Traction control & Abs. this gets my juices flowing, why cant the busa be a couch, but still be 220odd kg's and and make atleast 220 odd hp?? surely with technology these days it should be hard to produce this, with a range of riding modes, with heated grips, cruise control abs/launch/wheelie control, not that im in any possition as of yet, and i love my gen1 to bits, but in all honesty if i was to buy a bike right now brand new, id be hitting the 2012 zx10, although i havnt ridden one so im not sure on the ergo's but it ticks all other boxes so far, i dearly hope suzuki take note of what the others are doing, coz i hate thinking for myself |
