Off to America

Might be the wrong place to post this and pls feel free to move it, we are going to hire a motorbike and go on a tour next yr to America and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with health insurance while on the bike??? Some quotes are around $600
Any thoughts??

they cover me everytime I travel.. had a few claims with them and they sorted it out fast

only thing I think they want extra for is ski related stuff... general health, rental vehicles..etc. are covered and u can adjust coverage on each item

It's worth reading the policy's PDS carefully. Usually the rental excess doesn't apply to motorcycles, and the liability insurance they provide doesn't extend to using any kind of vehicle. (or anyone traveling with you)

Pretty much all of them are only good for the health part, all the other bits for theft, liability etc are full of exceptions with all kinds of clauses.

Hey thanks Dave, we did check but it doesn't say it doesn't cover motorbikes, rang them up and they said they would cover us. Fingers crossed knowing the American health system has me a bit worried.

For being the #1 power in the world they really don;t care about their own people... I have many friends in USA and they are all brainwashed to think that public health system is BAD. Everything costs a fortune there, they even go to Cuba to use the health system there instead of their own???? freakin weird if u ask me
Travel Direct covered me well and like you I enjoyed a hog ride over there, sry ppl I gave in and did the Yankie thang.
