front forks
#1
Steadily tearing apart my 1999 and discovering lots of things in the process!
The front forks have worn through the chrome (?) surfacing and down to the base metal. (On the 'front' side only, not all of the way around)
What do I do?
Can they be repaired and recoated (in Melbourne), or do I have to buy new ones?
Will the tubes from other models fit my 99?
Any advice would be appreciated!

New lower fork inner tubes @ from Suzuki in Australia $950 ish each

The same from the USA about $550 each plus postage.

If you order one at a time so they are mailed seperately you save yourself the GST.

Yes these will fit fine, although you'll need a gen 2 front wheel and axel to go with them......

No worries, just buy a set of magnesium Galespeeds off Kawasuki Ray.
I like those front forks, they'd go good with my rear Ohlins shock n Steering DamperCoolsmiley

Give shock treatment a call re the chrome,
They re-built my front and rear suspension and re-chromed the front legs.

$2000.00........The forks were squeaking for a while, apparently the springs were binding.......
Oh yeah it also took THREE months to do the job as they were too busy with race bikes....
You will also need to set your suspension up before riding the bike as the base settings wont do anything for the handling!

My opinion, spend your money on a new aftermarket set of forks.
