Just taken my new toy - thanks Rod - down to get a RWC to transfer it into my name. The guy says to me "I'm glad the bike is this tidy, as of Sept 1 we have to take photo's of all bikes we inspect"

Didn't hear about that 1 before! Biker

Does that mean they will be applying some standard of visual quality to the RWC? If it looks like a busted arsed rat rod will they fail it, regardless of the actually quality of the vehicle? Could this be a slippery slope down towards all "customised" bikes/cars being failed or forced into some separate registration category? Worse still I fear it could be used by insurers. If you bike is not completely stock the insurer will claim it is a modified bike and refuse payment.
I fear this does not bode well for we much maligned riders.

Maybe, (not sure, don't quote me on this) the boys and girls in blue are tired of hearing "It was like this and passed a roadworthy." A photo by said roadworthy dude, will cover his butt! Not sure! Biker

Did a Google on this and it seems it's another step to prevent dodgy roadworthies being done more than anything.
Anyone with a RWC licence needs to have a camera and hard drive to photograph the entire vehicle and keep the images for up to 7 years.

The entire vehicle needs to be photographed at every stage and every item that was checked while being tested for a rwc,
plus photo's any parts removed, replaced, taken off for inspection etc....

Victoria have hated motorcycles and their population for years but this is disturbing. It will spread and have complications that will of course hurt the population. When it gets to 'shoot the funny looking ones' stage, I'm fodder!!

It's for all vehicles, not just bikes.

While it may be for all vehicles it will be much more difficult to tell by a photo if the cage has a modified exhaust system or other additions.
I know I am a paranoid rider but this smacks of more control of how riders get treated by the lovable, friendly, sensible and highly intelligent folks down at the vicroads office.
Does this explain why the guy who sold me the bike, and chucked new gear on it to pass the RWC won't undo all his work for 28 days or is it a different situation?

He should of just got a copy pf all the pics from vic police taken on the spur Very Happy
