Radiator leak
#16
something i swear by, devcon plastic steel epoxy, its a 2 part jigga, iv held alloy radiators together, a cast sump in a commodore wich hit a square gutter, split from one side to the other, filled the crack in with this shit and it still hasnt leaked a drop nearly 7 years later, i make all sorts of things with it

in saying that, glad u finally got a result

In anger I cleaned the area up took the stupid bent ally off and cleared all the silicone away and savagely crammed some mixed knead it in the hole...at this stage all attempts to make it look like new were out the window. I hosed all the excess green pee off and left it overnight. Today I ran my motor untill the fan kicked in and not a sign of the dreaded green pee...I let it cool and did it again to make sure..still no pee. I put my fairing back on and ran it again still no pee...took it for a short run and well no green pee...an "I couldn't give a rats arse attitude" ended up being the one that fixed it. Moral of the story??? buy an air cooled bike lol!. I did end up tapping the two holes where the fairing fits near the steering stem due to one of Suckzukis crappy fairing clip things breaking and fitting two stainless steel socket cap button bolts...thats what they call them anyway....wonder how long radiator repair will last??

Sounds like you were holding your mouth right old man. Glad you got the result you were after. The spare is still here if you need it bloke, or until someone else needs it.

Cheers

Max

Maybe its time I fitted some radiator and oil cooler guards to help prevent a tube failure.

Rad guards look pretty cheap insurance. Not to mention the effects of coolant or oil on the rear tyre.

Thanks for the offers guys but I managed to fix it up and it hasn't sprung a leak yet so looks like the combination of silver seal and knead it has done the trick fingers crossed. That partshark price is pretty good but if mine fails I will take Max up on his offer.
