Airshifter advice
#1
I am thinking of installing an airshifter with ignition kill but know nothing about them.

Surfing the net I have seen electric, CO2 and compressed air types what do people recommend.

My swing arm can be used as an airtank and I have seen people at the drags wiith small battery operated 4X4 type compressors topping up their bottles, this seemed preferable to carrying an onboard compressor and messing with wiring.

Can you still footshift (on road) with an airshifter installed or will that damage the mechanism.

Any advice on best type and where to buy would be appreciated. Advice from people who then try to sell me their product will be taken with a grain of salt. Bruce

I'll be looking on with interest Bruce.
Gazza did a group buy for a few of us last year but i still havent finished fitting mine up.
Its a co2 type, supposably 600 shifts in a bottle, but i need a co2 station to refill and my nearest paintball is 80kms away.
Tried filling with Argon but the bottle pressure is a worry.
Mine would foot shift fine while attached or remove some splitpins and quick release on the air line and the shifter cyl is removed.

Thanks Maj,
What brand shifter did you get with the group buy. I imagine that you have the small 1/2lb bottle and mounted it under the tail piece.

The other option I have is to run the shifter on NOS and fit a reg to reduce pressure. Appreciate the info mate how much did you pay for the unit and where from. Bruce

Garry will correct me if i'm wrong but i think it was one of the Extremefun1300 kits , hope he comes back to you with a pic of the underpeg mount as the outboard sprocket support i have gets in the way of the motor mount .
