Hi everyone
My name's Clive but my friends call me Smurf or Papa Smurf. (Long story)
I live in Colorado and I ride a 99 original. It looks like I'll be posted to Australia next year working with your Air Force on some joint initiatives. Just thought I'd poke my nose in and have a look around, hope nobody minds.
aboard mate , WOW you are going to have so much fun when you get here , glad you found us ,
cheers

We don't mind at all, Papa_Smurf......greetings and to the AHC, mate!
Now, before you come out here....there is something very, VERY important that you MUST do!!!!!
Go to your local bike shop and procure one of those wooden crates that new bikes come in.....then ever so carefully pack your '99 busa into said crate.....then deliver to your air force bossman, with big bold print on the outside of crate >>>> "CLIVE PAPA_SMURFS' PERSONAL EFFECTS - SHIP (plane?!? lol) TO AUSTRALIA - HANDLE WITH EXTREME CARE"!!!
Let us know when you touch down, Clive.....we might even send out a party to meet & greet you!?!
keep it fun,
bazman

Welcome to our club Papa Smurf. As you can see we have something in common. You will enjoy it here as there are a great bunch of people always willing to help and give advice.
If you can not follow Bazman's advice you can always get a bike here and enjoy rides in our beautiful country

You'll like it here: you won't have to put your bike away over winter!

Cool Air force , I live next to Ritchmond Air Force Base in western Sydney and like to always step out side to watch the jets do an dust flight.
A few neighbors are RAAF and live in supplied defense housing and are great people.

welome aboard Papa_Smurf
every corner tells a story
Thank you everyone for your welcomes.
I doubt that I will be bringing my bike, would be a logistical nightmare. I will look at buying one when I get there, hopefully sourced before arrival.
As for where I will be posted, will not know until later in the year, the project is still in the planning stages. I will most likely be posted at several of your bases for 6-9 months each, a great opportunity to see a lot of Australia.

Great avatar Shifu. How is the Smurfet scene in Australia? I believe your women are almost as beautiful as ours.
