I am looking at a new chain and sprockets, the local bike shop is trying to get me to buy a 42tooth rear but can anyone tell me what rpm it will pull at 100klmh as I do alot of highway kays.
Cheers Fords,

Cheers!
Just read the polishing thread in the mod section and after a few home brews I am still giggling like a school girl on the weed, I mean red cordial! <i></i>
42t @ 100 from memory 36-3800, ive now got 43 and mostly see 39-4000......if my memory serves me correct. and my 100 is genuine not 120 indicated. I recently put on Supersprox Stealth 43t. <i></i>
I thought putting on a 43T made the speed less accurate. I thought 38T made the speed more realistic...
"sometimes crime does pay"<i></i>
my speedo is compensated (43t) and corrected with the speedohealer, you forgot? <i></i>
Gotchya!
I wasn't in the speedohealer deal.
I just got the Scorpio alarm (remote unit is still running with the original batteries too!!!)

42 or 43 tooth!
Just leave the bike in 5th gear on the open roads. That's what having a 43 toother is like. (Crap IMHO)
Not to mention killing the top end runs!
I'm still baffled why Busa owners buy the "worlds fastest bike" and then f*** it up with a dodgy sprocket? I've done the 43 tooth sprocket twice over 6 years. What was I thinking?
Drag racing is another ball game. Good luck to those hardcore guys!
The End
<i></i>
1 tooth change at the rear will make.....1/42nd of a difference. Maybe 100rpm? <i></i>
Okay so after all that i will opt for the 42. Thx for the info.

the only place for that sort of stuff is at the strip or the Salt
every one that get's up to this sort of stuff on the public
roads needs to stop and have a look at some of the peolple
that we have lost due to not knowing what's around the bend.
Thats why a few of us take it to the track and sort it out
there were it belongs.
Thats why I paid good coin for the right to own the fastest
bike on the planet, not to go and play silly buggers on the
road. And 149.5 mph pass is a shit load of fun under the right
conditions ( at a race track )
Remember Street Racing is NOT DRAG RACING..........

Not sure if this is any use to people, but here's a chart for gearing. If you're on 17/41 gearing, I've made that"1". Check your rpm at what ever speed you're interested in. Then multiply that rpm by the number that matches the set you're investigating, and work out what rpm you will be at for that gearing.
If somebody knows exactly what standard rpm coincides with 100Km/hr I could do another chart that might be easier. Bear in mind the state and size of the rear tyre affects the numbers to a small degree.

A 43 tooth sprocket still fucks the Busa up. IMHO
Why not just get a Gixxer thou???
And of course top end runs are off street, or on salt, or at the race track, or in my dreams....
I personally bought the Busa to ride. Not sure about the majority?
Nearly the end!
