HELP*** GIpro installation.
#1
I bought myself a GIpro gear indicator/TRE from ACM and went to install it today. I have searched for the thread where these were discussed a few months ago but it has eluded me

Anyway, I removed the fairing and located the correct connector. (tested by disconnecting and the neutral light on the dash stopped working so I 'hope' I'm right) The colour of the wire have thrown me however. the wires going into the loom are pink/blue/black on the loom side, the other side of the connector has black/red/white wires.

Looked at the GIpro wondering if something was amiss and noticed the wires on it's plugs are black/red/white too so thought OK, must be ok. But when I goto connect the connectors the red/white wires on the BIKE plug are reversed in the GIpro plug If I plug them together then the red & white wires will not be going red/red and white/white if you can understand what I mean. IS this a problem ? I'm 'assuming' these wires are in fact the resistor wires for the TRE side of the unit and if so should not make any difference what way they are connected.

Has anyone running the GIpro come across the same problem?

The bike is a 2006 K6 model if that makes any difference.

Have spoken to kawasuki & bear, both suggested asking fasterfaster1 but have been unable to find his number, hopefully he will read this and maybe have some advice.

Cheers

irrespective of what color the wires are the 2 brackets fit only one way and only in their respective brackets, so do that first and see if all works and if does dont worry about colors. and if dont work then perhaps factory mixed up wiring.

Yep wot Volvi said although I think he meant sockets or connectors, not brackets

TBO I didn't take much notice of wiring colours when connect GiPro/ATRE into my K5 since the plug is keyed to fit one way only - but all fine first go. Mark
