Tail Light

I have a replacement tail light to put on a 2006 busa. Can you just undo the screws under the pillion seat to get the light out or do you need to undo the back section ?

from memory, you just remove the tail plastic and un-clip the wiring... then you can remove the rear/brake light. Cheers.Grantwww.blingpartsaustralia.com.au

If you are replacing the globes, you only have to take the 2 screws out of the tail light lens.

If you are taking out the whole tail light assembly, you will have to take the saet cowl off, un plug the blinkers, tail light, and the seat lock clip thingy.

Dont forget to put the cable back on!!!

Job Done,

Have to remove the duck tail to get at light. Not a hard job but I was scared of breaking something. I havent done my own work on a bike since I was 9.

I bought I clear lense replacement unit. There is one main difference I noticed, To make the light red there is a red plastic section that wraps the bulbs. Problem is, to change a bulb with the replacement unit you have to take apart the back end again.. cant just do it by taking the lense off.

To replace lens/globe, you should not have to take all that off...

Your right, you shouldnt, and on the original tail light you didnt have to.. I had to replace the whole unit though because leaving 1 meter either side of a bike and 1 meter behind still isnt enought room for some car drivers to get around a bike.. haha.. It the replacement light that is a bit whacko, but hey, it was $75 instead of the $270 suzuki wanted and being in melb with the GP this weekend, I thought I better replace it before I got pulled over.. I will post a pick tomorrow of what I mean buy not being able to get at the bulbs/globes...
