perhaps someone should map the stock bikes computer to suit a full system and airbox modded bike.Get a dyno result,do a road test to test driveability etc. Then map a pc3 usb for the bike on same dyno ,road test it again.Look at the cost difference of the 2, the performance difference and give people a clear comparison.I have a pc2 on the vfr. They don,t map these until 80c so cold start up till 65c water temp, performance is crap and very muddy. The above comparo would help allot of people with breathing mods.

Interesting discussion. FF1 what would be a modification example that would be beyond the parameters of the stock ecu? Or if can be answered what would the maximum modifications that could be done to the Busa before the need of a PC?
Luckly I didn't ask about that crystal thingy gigger that Brocky had on his VK SS

You've got it covered Rich You have mail ! Thanks again

Thats what we need Rich, a Polariser!!!!

'a Polariser' well done Maj750t, good memory
Cheers Rich
I think Faster has a stutter... Cheers,

FF1 just posting the makBOX as another option as it hasn't been discussed here before. It may suit someone out in Busa-land.
I'm going to drop into Andy Hiscox's work shop at Merbein tomorrow to chat about his TEKA equipment. Then it's just a matter of doing the mods and booking the bike in for a tune.
My mods will be yoshi 4 into i (done), pair valve removed (done), air box and tre (waiting). That should keep me happy for a while.

Looks like it's just another Yosh box type set up Rich. Adjusting the ECU isn't a problem, it's just that you are still faced with the same problem which is without any fuel readings your flying blind and back to the hit and miss of it. Better to spend your money and have it mapped up with readings............cost less than the cost of the box
Is there anyone up there with a Yosh box Rich ? I'll give you some settings if you can get hold of the box, but still not ideal without readings ?

Rich, the problem with most people trying to remap the ECU with "whatever" is that they dont know if the bike is running rich or lean and therefore lies the problem --which way to go. There is also the added issue of throttle position Vs rpm mapping.
Simmo has eluded to the issue.
You cannot really get away without the use of ( on the proviso that it is done correctly ) an exhaust gas analyser or a wide band sensor. The motor will still run Ok , dont get me wrong as I have seen them do so with a hell of a A/F variation across the range.. as a matter of fact they arent all that good from the factory. They just run better if you stick to a A/F baseline.
Even with a lap top strapped to the tank, you'll need a wideband up the tailpipe. ..... I know people who do this
For those that may be interested in doing it properly wbo2.com/
There are others like Innovative but i'm using and happy with the techedge.
Thanks for the link Rich, i am ordering one,
also be aware when using this stuff there is no real O reference,if your bike has been changed before how will you know? if you add 10%and want to remove it again you have to remove 11%(like gst)

No worries Maj750t, glad it was of interest to you. I'm pleased that I contributed something on the forum instead of just asking questions.
Cheers Rich
Ok guys, I just had my bike fitted with a PC3usb and dyno tuned - The throttle response is awesome and it feels so much stronger.
If you're going to do it don't f*** around...do it properly the first time !!!!! Edited by: Mazzick at: 11/6/06 10:53 pm
