Metz Sportec M5

Anyone tried the Metzler Sportec M5? (recently tested in Rapid Mag, tho only in the wet...)

The reason I am asking is I have done about 4750km on my rear B015 (which I quite like).
There is still tread there possibly good for another 1000-1500km, I'd say(possibly slightly more).
I'd like to replace it with something that lasts a bit longer if possible. I quite like the OEM B015 in the way it responds and also I never ride in the rain...so wet performance is not of any interest to me, plus if it's OEM, they must have some idea that the tyre will do the job OK.
Some people I have spoken to think 42-42 is way too high and have recomended 36-38psi.
The Metz Sportec M5 is supposed to be the next BIG THING.
Any comments?

Thanks bigkev,
I looked at those...but wondering about getting their replacements for just a few dollars more, the PURES....(2 lbs lighter etc etc)
I like to try the newest things, so at this stage it's either the Pures or the Sportec M5 being equal 1st options, when the rear tyre goes....

Are you tired of your BUSA and want a different/newer bike? I thought people keep these forever, or just add on newer versions into their garages!!!

Big Kev, I am hoping you might hang on to it long enough till you get your license back...a Cruiser sounds ideal especially if you and mrs are going to use it together...my story is like I went from the most powerful "cruiser" M109r to the Hayabusa...to me, I have to say I would never go back simply because I love my Busa so much. Take a look at the M109...perhaps it might just be THE bike that will tick all the boxes...FP

Falco, I highly recommend the Michelin Pures. They are amazing.
"casting dispersions on others credability." And their illiteracy.

ummmm, cpt and insurance reasons seem to me to NOT equal "gutted", in this equation.... but that's just me.
You already have the absolute BEST Bigkev, I am almost certain (also by your own admission) that this trade off will not make you happy. Quite possibly, your next bike will be very disappointing by comparison. Sometimes the most logical and sensible reasons, just don't cut it, when it comes to personal happiness...at least that's my experience(!) Good luck, whatever the outcome. Take your Busa over to a mate's house for a fortnight+ and leave it there...better still tell him to sell it but do not commence for 3 weeks... see how you feel then.

Have spoken to this guy on the phone, and he is very helpful. If you take the rims in, he will fit them for free, or $450 ride in ride out. Getting some fitted on Sat.Very Happy

hi guys finally got my computer back so now can catch up with whats going on. i too came from a M109R to the busa and no way in hell am i going back after having the busa not only for the power but i feel it,s much more comfy to travel on ya out of all that wind. maybe the M90 might be the way to go for you bigkev if you can get used to not having all that power on tap. my X partner reckons the busa is more comfy on the back than the 109 was. as for tyres i,m looking at going to the conty road attack when i replace has anyone had these on their busa. Very Happy
SPEED ISN,T EVERYTHING BUT IT SURE IS FUN.

The Michelin power Road 190/50/17 is on sale at MCA $178.00 Pirelli Corsa Pro on the front 4000k so far.
I have one on the back, did a track day and it seems ok to me.
The wear rate is pretty good.
Continental Race Attack Street lasted 3000 km on the rear.
wore the sides out,you need to go to Bonang to find out why.
Great tyre especially riding on wet and dry roads.
Got 8000 km metzler M3's very good grip to the last km.
