You gunna run a AC pump off the belt too ??
Radiator and pump work good on the street, water is a great heatbank, takes a while to warm up and releases remp in similar style , so your inlet temps are more consistant, and when not at high inlet air temps it cools both from the external radiator and the incoming inlet air

Sumps with swinging pickups are square edged, no exhaust cutout as the drag guys using them run sidewinder exhausts for ground clearance and there is no need to try and fit anything under the motor, maybe a 1" sump would fit but you would loose a lot of oil capacity and induce oil surge probs that are not evident on a std setup on the street.
All motor guys would know the better exhausts, but i would think a big bore exhaust, would be needed for the motor capacity + the "extra capacity" blown in, maybe a Sumo ???
Hey Grunty,
the swinging oil pickup sump is deeper than the standard sump. Here's the standard 'winged keel' sump (in that eerie green colour that Hot Rod magazine used to call colour back in the 60's; any one else remember them?) ![]() Here's a one inch deep 'SBD' dry sump I fitted to a busa donk (silent but deadly?) ![]() And lastly a swinging oil pickup sump I fitted to another Busa. Deep man, real deep. ![]() As for an exhaust, hey make your own! I do. Sand bending man, beautiful curves, no ghastly welds, (except for the collectors, but as you can see, I fix them too!). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() When are we gonna see some pics of the 1580 Grunt?
