Try putting 3-4mm spacers under each "stock" clutch spring and see whats the result, if its better do the same with the heavy springs.
If the btl and the rest of the clutch is Aok (and it should be re. kms) this is all I can think of without seeing it first hand.

all 99 / 2000 Busas had the same problem with clutch grab, the 2001 on models had a modified inner plate, spring and washer - we know it as the wavy washer mod.
If it hasn't been uprated simply get yourself the later inner plate and washers and take out the innermost plate.
For more performance you really need to consider either a welded centre or a billet centre
lastly only use genuine Suzuki clutch components they can quite adequately tolerate 700hp. You can fit K8 plates which have a greater area of friction material

While the cone washer, seat and (special)thin plate will indeed improve clutch operation, installation of these parts without increasing spring pressure (after btl mod) will have a negative effect on the clutch as the cone works against the clutch springs as it pushes the inside steel away from the first fibre.

Thanks guys. Have ordered the washers and plate today. Have also machined up some spacers to go under the springs. Will be interesting to see how it goes in a few weeks.

While you're overhauling the clutch master and slave cylinders,you may want to put a clutch slave cylinder dust grommet in.The early Gen 1 busas suffered from dirty or black clutch master cylinder fluid.This problem was caused by the drive chain lubricant entering through the clutch slave cylinder,contaminating the clutch fluid causing it to turn black in colour. Suzuki rectified this problem with a dust cover that fits over the clutch slave cylinder and piston with a small hole in the center for the clutch push rod. From memory the dust grommet is from the 2005 model inclusive onwards.The dust grommets are relatively inexpensive and a worthwhile investment to your clutch master and slave cylinder system.
