No limiter required for gen 1. Its slow enough. They had to limit a gen 2 because its a weapon. I'd rather ride a beast than yawn on a dinosaur. Nothing personal, just progress. Remove the limiter, its still stock. 20 kgs heavier and its still quicker. Anyway i like to get to the limiter in a heartbeat on a gen2 than to 300 on a gen 1 sometime tomorrow................Trophy

Limiter??????????????? what's that????

Oh, . . . . . you mean like that corner coming up real fast, whilst it's flat out approaching red line in top, you went past the 300 mark as it spluttered on the rev limiter as you changed out of fifth, (is that the limiter you're talking about) and you're not game to lift your head up for fear it may just depart the rest of your body . . . . 300 is just a change point as you slip into top.

Nobody in their right mind would do that. Especially on a 'slow' Gen 1.

In reply to the original post, I made a few bids on it but pulled the pin at $10,800. I reckon there'd be nearly $3k worth of damage there & when you do the math it's not a bargain, (not dear either but certainly not a bargain).

It looks the same white as the '08 to me.

As for XY HOs getting $700k, yes they do but some geese paid $1mil for them too not so long ago.

More than 400mtrs but the 1441 would power wheelie out of turn 12 and wound on until it hit the pin on the speedo in 6th and still picked up another 1500 revs on the front straight at EC so well over the magic 3.

Had to brake HARD - real HARD for turn 1.Scary

Pan what did u see on the speedo?

The Gen 1 may be "slow" when compared to a Gen 2...but it still craps on everything else. And who uses all of the Busa's speed on the road? Very few... Hell, I'm just about to switch to 16/42, so as to gain even more pickup in the lower gears.

Anyway, the Gen 2 is FUGLY, especially the white ones. - Even BMW would never create such horrible two-tone monstrosities. None of the Gen 2 Busas have a decent paint scheme; they're all so boring: White or Red or Black...Zzzzzzz...

I say the Hayabusa needs to go back to it's roots! The Champagne/Copper scheme should be a factory option, every year.
"casting dispersions on others credability." And their illiteracy.

who cares about looks when they're built for speed. Pink, green, yellow, brown, gen1 gen2 who cares. As long as its a busa, thats all that matters right?Idiot2

I think you've lost the plot there!! The 'discussion' about Gen1 v Gen2 is the most important item on the whole site!! . . . It's just that the Gen 2 riders are all way too pig headed to admit that they've all bought lemons - when compared to the mighty Gen 1 Pi_tongue - and as for colour. . . we all know that red goes faster and black looks bigger, but copper is the only 'real busa'Knuppel2
