Hi Folks,
as you can see, I have just joined up. WHY you may ask, I guess the saying that "two minds is better..." rings true. My Mar 9(2010) new Hayabusa came home on the day. First time I rode it too! However, as you all know, this Falcon is a gentleman that is, until around 6000rpm!!!
Anyway, I am "retired", a stone's throw from 60 and have arrived at this point in time, after some interesting adventures. This really means that I had no idea about owning the Falcon until around the time of the Expo at Broadbeach which was when I decided to consider it seriously(now or never thing). I always thought that it looked fantastic, but hesitated as one does when something right infront of you, takes your breath away so dramatically. I'll say that my first bike was a Titan 500 (1972) and my last bike was a cruiser...and in between,...who cares?
(lets not pinpoint what my last bike was...except it was very powerful, bumpy and didn't like corners all that much!). However the "road-presence" was HUGE. The Falcon is a saddle with WINGS. A Stradivarius compared to a banjo, a thoroughbred compared to a mule...that is, compared to my last steed.
My first ride home, via Mt Cootha was a revelation! THIS motorcycle is what I am meant to have a serious relation with! The handling, GB and of course the "molto accelerando" is from the FUTURE...a different Universe from my previous Cruiser.
Just gave it the 1000km service and all is well. I have adjusted to the new riding position and find it comfortable. I do wonder what a 6 hr stint would be like and to this end, I am considering Heli bars which will help. Anyone know where to get these in OZ? I have made enquiries and after that, the bike is just about perfect I'd say.
Have a great week everyone!
