This mornings discovery has ruined my christmas!
Last night at about 1am my Gen 2 fell over in my garage and it's left me pretty pissed.
Damage includes;
Broken screen and left footpeg.
Scratches on Left fairing, engine cover, bar-end, muffler, mirror, rear indicator housing and hump.
My garage is locked and has a good, flat concrete floor. I moved my bike slightly at about 5pm, and recall kicking the stand with my foot to make sure it was fully forward before putting the bike back on it. My wife parked her car next to it about 11pm, and woke up this morning at about 1 am because of a very loud crashing sound. She didn't investigate, but we found my bike on the ground, with the hump pinned up against the bumper of her car later in the morning.
I'd thought about doing the 'stand mod' but didn't think it was necessary because I nearly always park on flat and firm ground. I'll be doing it now!
I never thought this would/could have happened to me in my garage and almost makes me wonder if my garage is haunted!
I want to truly warn all owners out there. NEVER EVER put 100% faith in your stock side stand. I recommend doing the stand mod, and always check your stand before resting your bike on it.
Merry Christmas to all, especially to those who have also suffered from the quality engineering of their Suzuki side stand.
