Hey everyone,

I've had a few requests from members of the Canberra Riders Club if they can come to our 10th anniversary rally to be held at Tathra on the 4,5,and6th of December this year.

What are your thoughts as a club on this matter?

Do we invite friends from other clubs to come and not only celebrate the 10 years of the Hayabusa, and to also come ride "The Loop" with us on Saturday arvo?

We'd like this rally to be a large and well organised one, We have beds for around 100 at a pinch.

Do we invite our mates from other clubs or not? If you're coming to Tathra, we believe you get the right to say who comes and who does not.

Let's hear your reactions to answer that question.

Regards.

Sure all are welcome.......except those having to have to pedal their bikes, they might be best remaining in their leotards....if that what its called.

I personally think that inviting the friends and associate riding companions of AHC members (potential future AHC members?) to the 10 year Anniversary Rally at Tathra is a good idea for a variety of reasons.....

1- Being made to feel welcome promotes an act of goodwill towards all our fellow (& fellow-ette) riders....Grouphug
Do we, as a club, wish to be perceived as being a genuinely friendly, open & welcoming group of riders of a truly magnificent and incredible bike.....or just a bunch of die-hard, stuck-up tossers with our heads way up our own arses??? (why not stick our heads up someone else's arse instead?Lol3)

2- It will make for a bigger riding group on the Saturday arvo "Loop Ride"....
Most of us surely realise by now that at certain times there is definately "safety in numbers" !!

3- It will make for a better attendance at the official "Party at the Pub" on Saturday night....
The bigger the crowd....the bigger the party !!

4- It may possibly help the club provide some other "extra-curricular" activities....
Lets face it....some "particular" activities simply come down to numbers & cost....and the more people that turn up could be the difference between whether these type of things actually happen....or not.

The only down-side that I can think of is that there possibly may be more "other" bikes there than the "mighty 'busa"....Undecided
But hey....it's up to each and every single one of us to do "whatever it takes" to make it to this truly unique event. 10 year anniversaries are incredibly special Trophy & don't come round very often
(usually only once, me thinks Idiot2)
So come on guys, lets do this.....& lets do it B-I-G !!!!

Of course everyone who cares to attend should be very welcome. No OZBUSA club ride or event has ever been exclusive and should never be.

Like they say, the more the merrier.

Great idea.

A cynical person might say "It seems like the perfect event at which the inferiors should be given an opportunity to pay homage to the King."

But... there aren't any cynics here.... and I'd never say such a thing. Wouldn't even think it. It's just not cricket I say! I only write it here to prevent any of you saying it and stirring up trouble! Can't be havin' that now.

I feel the problem may arise if it becomes another "Snowy Mountains run" with other CLUBS rather than other RIDERS being invited. Sure, invite your friends FROM other clubs, but to invite whole other clubs may potentially compromise/ruin the event...

Question: do you know WHO will show up?

EG: as many of you know I have a lot to do with RATS. I don't just invite the lot of them to Hayabusa events like long rides though. I wouldn't know more than half the people showing up, couldn't give you an idea of whether they are safe riders, loosers that just want to show off or try-hards that hope to go past a Busa on a straight one day...

I don't want the responsibility of posting it up on another site then ruining it for other Hayabusa riders.

I voted "no", but I'd encourage all of us to invite as many non-Hayabusa riders as possible THAT WE ACTUALLY KNOW (or know of at least)...

Invite other RIDERS, but not other CLUBS.

Just my 2c

A good point PAN.
hmmmm
Lets make that - everyone bring a friend or two or maybe a few.

The price of second hand busas is sure to go up.

Bit of a loaded question. Haven't voted. Non-members fine, but . . .
Don't think it should be an open invitation. May potentially end up with thousands of idiots!!! Has to be some link to the club and or members.

Then again - might end up jest you'n'me?Embarassed

Sorry - just read rest of thread - I'll shut up now!

I voted no for the same reason. In the past we have had people bring a friend or two, and that has been great fun. If we invite entire clubs, we cannot be sure who we are inviting and whether or not they will fit in with us socially and on the road.

Call me selfish, but I don't get to see you guys all that often, I want to hang out with the club.
