Full car paint job, how much?

How much do you reckon would cost to re-paint a large size sedan, like a Fairlane. a decent job not a quick splash over.

It depends on what year model, whether you want inside and out paint etc...

It is probably worth more than the car... I asked a mate about painting a Volvo XC90 (2006) model, out of curiosity, and h explained the metalic paint alone would cost HIM about $7500!!!

If its just exterior it shouldn't cost too much, few grand maybe, but a proper job will cost a fortune, considering they have to remove basically everything from the car, paint it, and put it all back together

I would have thought a few grand Volvi but shit thats high.
And black obviously is an unforgiving color so you would want a good job.
Maybe just go for safe yellow instead or do one of those cool graffiti looks?

There's a guy in Sydney, around Ingleburn/Minto advertising 2 pack spray jobs for $1000.

I just acquired a Zl Fairlane project car & the paint job cost me so far $560 for ALL materials (spray putty, undercoat, custom mix acrylic paint, clear, bog, tape etc) plus a couple of cases for my mate who is spraying it, I'm doing the prep work.

I heard it as 1k drop off/pick up, basic spray job. May be extra if more than std prep work required.

Volvi if your leaving it the same colour as the paint is now then things get cheaper. i had an xf ute resprayed in the same colour and it cost me a shade over $1400. was good work and lasted well. main factors where the car was clean no dents/dings and prep work was pretty minimal. metallic is expensive but a plain gloss black shouldnt be much at all. if you get the car and sand it back and get most of the basic prep out of the way you will find things getting alot cheaper. spray painters are a delicate bunch and charge like wounded bulls for doing anything ontop of painting. a big chunk of the qouted price will be for prep work and there labour(cause the bastards think they are above sanding) so expect to pay alot if theres alot of filling and prep to be done.

People want drug money these days for paint jobs.

But most of the time, you DO get what you pay for...
