Helmet woes...

Have been looking for a new lid, tried to fit into a 2XL Nolan and an Arai at the local bike mart, but no luck. Anyone else out there with a big head? What are you wearing??

Hey red,
Have you got a dress makers tape measure and measured your head?
Once you have done that then you have a proper starting point for your new lid.
Then check out a sizing chart on the net for the brand helmet you want.
Hope all works out for you..

Adding to that, enquire about interchangeable cheek pieces as this may help solve fitment problems.

Give these guys a buzz, ive found them helpful

No haven't tried the dressmakers tape, I just figured 2XL was a generic size for all helmets...

I give the helmet warehouse a call and see what they've got available. Cheers Guys.

All helmet sizes are different, I range from a medium to an XL depending on what they are, and the Shark is just awful on me. The Shoeis go pretty large, I assume you've given that a go?

Ive got a fat head lol either arai or shoe are the go, ive had multiple helmets of each brand and find them comfortable. Currently using a shoe as it was a bit cheaper than the arai's.

Yeah I have a big head too. Found arai's I have no hope, shoei's don't fit properly (they halo something shocking on me)

I have a HJC & it is only a large, seems every model of helmet, not just brand, has slightly different sizing. I also found KBC in XXL & the Rockhard helemts seem to fit me really well too.

Hope this helps some.

hubs head is 60-61 cm thats in arai. he has probs with squashed cheeks when trying helmets so its a big process finding one that fits.
i had a shoei but admittiedly it was wrongly fitted for me and used too parachute and shake the heck outta me.
as loafie suggested different cheek pads will help .also dont be afraid to ask for help when trying on your helmet.
i found th rjays great fit with quiet a few extras on it that the dearer brands.but there are arguements on what you should pay for a helmet ect.
just remeber you can mould padding with the back of a spoon and also with wear helmets mould to your shape.
yes at first they are gunna be tight.you will regret buying a helmet that is too big
