rear shock difference g1-g2?

One for the tech heads, i have a chance to pick up a rear shock of a gen 2 (2008) rather cheap and just wondering if it will fit my gen 1? Cheers guys!

Yes it will I am running a gen 1 ohlins in my gen 2 with no problems.

I measured both and they are the same.
