The useless bits of info to see if we can make a million posts thread
Oh you will have fun doing that job! Lol3

What sort of maintenance? Being a t/a or getting in and doing the cleaning out? If its the latter, I hope you like long showers...
Tough times in the mining industry at the moment
stupid thread keeps bugging out
ahhh there we go its back again
I'd dare say I will see Pete on Sunday when we do this memorial ride for a coworker that died at the mine I work at in late February

he was down here last week to meet his new grandson call him pop now!!
Depends on what you want to do. t/a would be good if you want to go into that line of work (diesel fitter, boilermaker etc). Being on the blast crew can be hard work yeah, and its a specialised job. The good thing is you get to blow stuff up, and they go with a bang!

Here are some shots at my work .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIVU1im3tQo

Here is one at my work, it says overburden shot, but its actually interburden...
This is what I drive...loading trucks. Can load out more dirt than 2 draglines in a shift if in the proper conditions. The trucks getting loaded are close to the size of a two-story house

Here's what a smaller truck can do...

Anyway, I can recommend that even if its not for long and you have the oppurtunity, have a look at the mines for sure. Just keep safe while you are there

Especially if and when they don't require too much effort..

and/or, you are having fun doing what you are doing

I used to operate a radio (foot pedal), mulit phone lines, and 3 active computer screens at once.

Youu kind get a bit scary to watch.
