Needed to introduce my self and ask...why are Aussies so cool?
#1
First the introduction...I live in the Tri Cities in Washington State in the US. I am an administrator at another website in the US that is focused on the Hayabusa which brought me to this site as there are a few members here who are on our site. (That will get us to the second part of my post in just a bit). I have been riding for almost 30 years and have bought and sold more bikes than I care to remember...but none have captured what I have wanted like the Busa. I bought my bike (Sasha) back in November of 07 as she is one of the Gen II bikes. Do to limited selection, I was only able to get the Orange and Black (really a dark blue if you look in bright light). I rode her for a season and then decided to tear her down to the frame and rebuild her into the bike I wanted. Well, at about the cost of what I paid for her, I did a number of modification and ended up with my final version you see in the pics.

Now for my second part of this post...why are Aussies so cool? I am a member on a number of Australian sites from Perth to Sydney and no matter which site I am on, I am always amazed at the generosity, kindness ability to rip a friend in good humor and instead of that person being upset...they joke right back! So why is it that you have been able to capture that part of life that seems to have been lost everywhere else? Thank you for letting me be part of your site!

Take care,

Eric

Welcome mate, great looking bus, real stand out! Also good to see you got your priorities right with your parking spot.
When aussies get hit by adversity we just roll up our sleeves & get stuck in. It's the laid back attitude & culture over here that brings us out that way & our sense of humour style that allows us certain liberties with mates.
Most aussies tend to treat strangers as friends they havn't met yet.

Very nice paint job. It looks like it has real depth.

I like to think the Aussie way is derived from the ANZACS. The poor bastards in the trenches about to go over the top knew what was coming yet they stood together had a laugh and a smoke and went over cos their mate was and he migh tneed a hand.

Im certainly proud to be Australian but I can also say I have met alot of Yanks that are very much the same and am proud to call them my friends. Youre not a bad bunch either.

Alot of it has to do with our common interests/activities that binds us. More specifically when they are high risk interests. I spent about 5 years doing skydiving and skydivers are all a good mob too no matter what the nationality.

Just my 5 cents worth

Welcome to the forum and I hope you stay involved. Alot of our members have alot of knowledge worth tapping into when it comes to the Busa's and other exploits.
There is no strong performance without a little fanaticism in the performer

Yea was gonna say to it dates back to the ANZAC legend. Bit of a while ago now but the tradition lives on.

Thank you guys! Everyone just continues to solidify my feelings that there are still a lot of good people in the world. I am only passing by this place we call life one time...I want to make it count for something even if it is just making friends, laughing at each other, drinking to much and helping a friend/family member when they are down.

Not that there are going to be a rush of folks coming over the the Pacific Northwest part of the US...but if anyone is coming you have a friend here to give you some ideas of things to see, places to go and if needed help... if something goes south.

I look forward to talking more with everyone here on the site.
