whats with all the hating on the gen2? i dont get it. its an overall better bike from both my previous gen1's. Rod if you want a new bike by all means go for it! more power, better brakes and better turn is what you will find. is it worth trading a late model gen1 on a new gen2? well thats your call if you want a new bike or not.

Rod, go and get the K9 - a better bike in every way compared to the legendary Gen1

i'd like the genII more if it had a gen 1 seat unit on it!!

The seats are the same Nick. Just not interchangeable because of different mounting brackets.
Except for the shape of the pillion seat which is better on the GEN II.
Whether the tail piece is better or not is questionable but the rear lights certainly are.

Dan,
No one is hating the gen 2 its a good bike. Is it a $8-$10,000 better bike than the gen 1? Thats what some people will be looking at for changeover. The answer is no its not 8-10k better. If you spent half that amount on the gen 1 you would have a better bike than the gen 2 and in my opinion thats a fact, several here have already proven it.

Of course people who have made the change love their bike its a good bike so no hating from here. I own both and am stating my opinion based on first hand experience.

Gen 1 - Add decent:
Suspension - gold valves $1,000.00
Brakes - Rotors, braided lines, pads $2,000.00
Minor motor mods $2,000.00 - $4,000.00

You end up with a faster better handling better braking bike than a stock gen 2.
Lets see someone argue with that.Pi_tongue

gen1 all the way!! still i don't care because a busa is a busa no matter what model or colour! it doesn't change the fact that they are the best bikes ever to come out of Japan or the world for that matter!!!

I hear ya Nick. I never thought I'd ride a better bike than the GEN 1 till later on.
What Bruce says is true of course but you can add some of the same mods to a GEN II bike and make it even better still.

May come as a shock to you Busgo, but not everyone thinks like you do...

I certainly don't think the Gen II isn't good, but I see Blackzook's point as very valid.

I don't feel it's a sensational look or a sensational bike... maybe I would "if I owned one", or maybe I wouldn't...

I guess though Busgo, wanting to vomit is a sensation too... Fatman

sure if you spend 8000 $ on a gen 1 bike you can make it perform
very good, but you still would not have a new bike with a new bikes 2 year warranty...
by the way i love the looks of gen 2 rear, fender and all ,
i suppose i was not too keen on it at first but now i would not change it.
gen 1 and 2 both good bikes though
