Finally she is all back together. I got a couple of bits and pieces to tidy up then its a tech inspect, UDL licence and some track time for tuning.

Step into the tuning slowly
Turbo can burn a piston quicker than you may think..
Just noticed the Allison screensaver , bigger version of your turbo with no hp robbing pistons in the way :)

HEHE your on to me. Next long long term project.
Step one figure out a way to get my hands on an Allison 250.
Step two build a stand and annoy the neighbours.
Step three put one wheel in front and one wheel behind it.
I will definately take the tuning slowly, already seen a ZX14 melt 2 pistons over here. He had it tuned on the dyno (can be seen on youtube with the boys gettng quite excited at it spinning up in 4th gear roll ons) then I think he made about 2 passes before it broke.
I have dialled up my rising rate to 77PSI for for 7PSI boost according to BEGI's formula. I have a dash mounted AFR gauge and I plan to do slow build up rides with one eye glued to the AFR. MY understanding is the target AFR is 11.8 on boost?
Could someone send me a baseline PC3 turbo fuel map? I would like to see it and try to convert it to a baseline ECU turbo fuel MAP. I might also try the ECU hack forum for a turbo ECU fuel MAP.

Lookn good Matt
You'll have to bring her ouy to WSID when you can (Outlaw)
A boosted Busa if freakin addictive!!! Only had about 10 passes on mine and the spool noises stay in your head for days! LUV IT! Hope your tuning goes well
Well done , nice work
Use a good race fuel for tuning.

I'm sure there are a couple of maps there, just ask on the forum.
i'm about to try it in a little more complicated way, reflash the ecu for 550cc injectors , put 3 bar sensors in to replace the factory air pressure sensors and remap the pressure tables , could take a while but found a guy that will let me have dyno time,
Turbine engines are my next project, have a RR Nimbus on a stand just about ready to run , 6-900hp depending on the tune, with a gearbox and output shaft std (ex helicopter).

Yeh i saw the thread briefly today on the hack forum re. the map sensor. Very interested to see how you go with that one. now that the bike is nearing completion, I want to start focusing on getting a better understanding of the programming principles. I have downloaded romraider now and will get studying on it soon. I have got a 3 bar delphi sensor ready to go on if I am able to use it.
Very jealous on the turbine engine, how did you manage to source that one? I have a mate who flies Dorniers for Aerorescue and am slowly niggling away at him to help me get my hands on an hour expired turbine. Also investigating other options. This is something that will be a seriously long time project though.

I searched for ~6 mths, firstly looking at the Allison 250 , then some small Turbomecca, Russian GTD350 (looks like a slightly bigger allison..) and was put on to the nimbus by a guy selling an incomplete gtd350.
only trouble was i was ripped off somewhat, the turn key turbine arrived a little less than described and i have had to source parts to finish it, apparently i'm not the only one this guy did this too, i am in contact with 2 others in the UK.
but i now have contact with a large number of guys into this sort of thing and can check credentials of any seller if you need.(you think bikes are a small world, try recreational turbine enthusiasts)

Your a pushy bugger.
Not much to tell at the moment, first test was a week or so ago and had a few teething problems to sort out with the clutch, fuel pressure, shift kill set up problem and a boost leak.
I have got the air/fuel in a safe area (big thanks to Maj for making himself available for the barrage of phone calls on a Saturday) and the bike is now making 7psi at 10.9 - 11.5 A/F.
Next test this Friday and I am hoping to give it the berries and see what sort of times I can run. Also got to get used to the new clutch springs which feel like they are off a HQ holden front suspension but do have a really good feel for progression.

Phone calls are easy Matt, you had the difficult bit, first time tuner on a estimated fuel map , with a totally untried home built system, Congratulations..
For those that don't know, all done with the reflashing of the std ecu , no powercommander or other secondary box..

yes he has done well and yes you need a gorilla grip to hold that clutch in with those springs, definately not for street use.
my words on the clutch were fxrk!
question have you done the clutch mod near the casing so you dont break it like chookie?
will see you friday and if it cools don a bit it would be nice from the close to 40 today.

Update from Fridays testing......
Only got 4 laps in due to alot of oil downs from the tin tops.
I must have bumped the rising rate adjustment on my fuel pressure reg when I was checking plugs etc last week and the bike was off the charts rich on the first run.
Adjusted it leaner after first lap and went a bit better but really spent the rest of the runs dropping the rising rate to get back to where I was before.
The last lap was alot better but still way rich. Ran a 10.55 which should have been a 10 flat but for a lazy launch. Still set my fastest trap speed from when the bike was N/A at 139mph. I know its not much but the data log showed the A/F was at 10 which is as rich as it can read.
Also saw the ZX12 that was in Rapid a few issues back. He ran a couple of 9 flats at something like 170mph I think. I was coming up the return road at the finish line when he was going through the trap and I could hear the tyre protesting all th way. He is havng a bit of trouble cracking the 8's, when I spoke to him he said he was having trouble getting his muzzy 2 stage clutch set up.
