Well there u go 3 coppers with approx 45 shots between them and they had to shoot a 15yr old kid (OH he was a member of some club, call to arms party) but shit he had 2 knives. Fark wow 2 knives and they only had (between 3) 45 .40 cal rounds... and i just couldnt see his legs at 15 mtrs.so we shot him dead, trigger happy ,, welll these c******* should be charged with murder and Vic reaction should be no worse than what happened in Greece.

I'm sure those 3 big tough coppers were shit scared of that kid with a couple of knives and were forced to shoot him to protect themselves. . . . . At least thats what they will say at the inquiry.

Bad Data old man. The Vicpol still have revolvers. 6 shooters. They probably carry an additional 6 rounds each in a speadloader pouch on their belts. They fired 1 shot each.

They sprayed him with 2 full containers of OC spray. There were 4 coppers responded to a report iof an angry male with 2 large knives he had stolen from a nearby shopping center.

His actions were nothing short of "Suicide by cop" unfortunately. He backed them into a corner and even after being sprayed continued to attack them. Shocking to have to shoot this angry young bloke, you really needed to be there to know the whole story.

Rather than tar all coppers with the same brush, I suggest waiting to see whether the Coroner comes to the same conclusion the police did - they had no practical alternative to the use of force option they utilised. If not they will face action, both criminal, departmental and civil, but at the end of the day, they weren't the ones waving big knives around, they were protecting not only themselves, but everyone else in that young fella's path.

And they weren't traffic cops.

I have to agree with Dad, a Tazer would have stopped him without them having to use lethal force.

They fired 1 shot each. Where did you get "emptied their magazines" from? and they had revolvers, .38cal. VicPol are still using pinwheelers 10 to 15 years after most forces went slps.

Ok They had .38's 3 x 6 = 18 rounds I reckon at a safe distance for the POLICE would be around 1000 mtrs arh joking maybe 15 mtrs
If these criminals couldnt put a few shots in his legs then they shouldnt be supplied a gun of any sort. A lot of the memebers
must think because they put on a uniform it makes every thing right.
And they gave the copper counciling Faaaaark what about the kids family. What the Vic cops are doing slowly but surley is turning there state into a US condition were it will be fare gane for a would be criminal to start shooting it out instead of wheeling a pen knife.

So what would you do if someone attacked you with 2 knives?What would you do if some one tried to attack a member of your family with 2 knives?

Not sure if it's still the case but my Dad was a cop for 12 years and they were trained to shoot at the central body mass to eliminate the possible injury to nearby people, if they were caught firing at any other part of the body they would face diciplinary action......Max is this till the case?
this incident happened at a skate park so plenty of concrete for the bullets to bounce off and possibly injure or kill people up to 50 meters away...I don't really like cops a whole bunch but in that situation you just don't know what you'd do, i guess the coroner will come to some conclution that will try to apease both parties.

I have spent many thousands of rounds out of 357 magnums, 45 autos, 9mm autos and 38 super autos. From personal experience I found revolvers harder to be accurate with because of the double action trigger. I cant imagine a police officer cocking a revolver before firing giving him a single action trigger pull on the first shot.

Unless the officers are shooting regularly (which I doubt very much) it is very easy to be innacurate at 15m with a handgun without factoring in the stress of actually shooting at another person. To incinuate that an officer could choose to shoot someone in the leg or arm is ludicrous and they are trained to shoot at the largest mass because they have more chance of hitting it and nuetralizing the threat. I believe the common training is to do a "double tap" when firing meaning they would let 2 rounds go at a time.

It is sad that it came to it but what would you be saying tonight if the kid had of gone through the shopping centre stabbing members of the public. Would you be asking where the cops were?

exactly , aim for the legs at 15 + meters on a target that is not standing still and therefore making a hit very hard .. OR going for the largest mass of a human body .. the torso.... for me self preservation is #1. if someone was coming at me with a knife or weapon i would shoot and think about the consequences later.

The way the media would have you believe is that these cops communicated with each other to fill this kid full of lead , then open fire hollywood style and bought this bad guy down.... BULLSHIT - Police are trained to defend themselves with there weapons and not to hesitate - if they had hesitated then maybe 1 cop would be dead now , and the kid would also be dead , then the cop who shot the kid dead would be a hero for preventing further deaths and not the villian

YOU must remember this was no kid with the typical attitude , witnesses reported that he was acting like a kid on the drug " ICE" he was also a member of a white power group, not a good combination for a civilized chat.

Yes its unfortunate this Child was shot dead. BUT its just plain simple you try to attack a police officer with a weapon , and there WILL BE CONSEQUENCES. You shut the hell up , leave your knives/weapons at home - you decide to go stupid on a drug- cops come they wrestle you to the ground - maybe rub your face in the dirt a little - you go home after a stint in the lock up .... SIMPLE
