Thanks everyone again. Defiantly decided to buy the draggins jeans for work and for now just small leisurely rides around the Barossa. Then when I get used to the bike and start to pick up a bit of speed and cornering and also day trips Iâ€ll defiantly invest in a good pair of leathers.
p.s Still think this is a bloody good site, but hate seeing new threads saying “picking my bike up tomorrow …or today†well…unless itâ€s me!!

Ive bought over the years 2 draggin black cargos, cant fault them but their prices kept going up and up as they were increasing in popularity, initially around $150 now around $229. When I looked for a new pair I came across Icon jeans with kevlar on the knees but not on the butt and they were on special at $100, so I bought 2 Icons blue and black which has served me well to date.
Leathers are for dedicated riding imo, the jeans allows for regular use whilst being padded.

Hi,
Thinking out loud here!! You may want to wait till you get your bike as you will receive a few dollars of your stuff after you have bought your bike. Most bike shops that sell you your bike offer a discount. So you may want to check it out before you buy your jeans.
Most jeans come with protection now if bought from a bike store.

i have 2 open something 4 crissy piperjon well the wife said so.
try 2 get a good deal on the helmet and jacket,gloves if i buy the bike from a dealer

HI.
There are some people in Gosford, NSW. Called Australian Sales Direct who have an add on Ebay for Camo Cordura Bike pants.
Say the pants have armour at thighs and knees.
Made in Pakistan.
Selling for $129.90 +$20 postage.
This is lots cheaper than draggin gear but is it a case of buy cheap get cheap?
Has anybody had any dealing with these people or have purchased or know what their jeans are like?
Say they have limited stock but might be worth a phone call or email

harley guys that are yuppies buy them.(the suits ie in canberra or syd weekend warriors)
maybe i associate them with that
kinda twist up the upper lip and think what a wanker
or girls on trail bike racing gear
the moto cross lot
or hey you can camo the loucust guts in them

A real situation FYI on Draggin vs Leather
His injuries include a broken collarbone, fractured ribs, two exposed knee caps (right knee is extensive) and grazes and lacerations. He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he is recovering.
It is always unfortunate when one of our riders has a mishap whilst enjoying a day out. However, I must mention that his "Draggin Jeans" did very little to protect his knees or skin. Please take note and wear protective clothing (eg leathers) and ensure your bike is well maintained before riding on a ride for your own safety.

Couldn't agree more it's got to be leather & armour all the time I own a pair of Draggin jeans worn once would not even consider using them on a ride longer than the corner shop but hey that's just me.And if you don't tuck them into your boots and come off you run the risk of them rolling up your leg and exposing your leg.
What gets me are these clowns that ride around in thongs shorts & a singlet but best of all there wearing a helmet they must have no concept of what happens to skin when it rubs against bitumen even at a moderate 40k's p/h
