Ruffy and Gnarbunkle accident at Jindy
#46
What a tough way to start the Xmas holiday period, but what a great opportunity to see how well club members chip in. I for one will be going through my parts bin to see what can be sent over to help the rebuilds (if they are possible!).
Speedy recovery guys!

Also special thanks to all the members involved after the accident road control etc
Also special thanks to humbussa saved my sanity, John took a very hard hit to the head and knocked himself out when he came too he was still in Disney land for a couple of hours until the ambulance got there and took over, I explained to him what had happened over and over, every time I told him a minute or so later he couldnâ€t remember what had happened and what I said and John kept asking what happened this went on for 15 or 20 times later humbussa came to the rescue (Man it was scary stuff)
Get well boys will catch up again soon Pi_thumbsup

I liked Humbussa, I think we'll keep him.

I've just been over to visit the Ruffy's, along with a fully kitted up Max. Is it just me or are uniforms kinds sexy?

ANYWAY... Ruffy is looking 100% better than he was yesterday, which was 1000% on the day before. His only stipulation is that he refuses to be fed in front of other people, a man has to retain some dignity. Lisa is giving him none, having bought him a Mr Bump t-shirt which he is wearing as pajamas. Right now, he doesn't have the agility to fight her off, so she is making the most of it.

Oddly, our own Mr Bump is a bit shirty that everyone else has flowers and he has none. Clearly he is a fruit. I'm ordering some from the club, if anyone wants to throw me $5, contributions accepted.

He's looking pretty good peoples!!

Hope your well on the mend now and just a matter of time to help heal.

Its one of those times when you see people rise to the occasion in times like those and truely remind us all there are still 'gems' out there. Well done guys & girls.

Thanks everyone - I've got off the drip and made my way down to the internet cafe at the hospital. The offers of help, accomodation an everything else since the accident has been nothing short of overwhelming - many people have gone out of their way without being asked to help both chris and myself i cannot thank you all enough but i will get to you individually.

At the moment it is Tuesday morn and the neurological resident has told me that the MRI machine wont be available for three days to make a definitive diagnosis on my left arm. Apparently, i have fractured the c6 & c7 vertebrae in my neck as my head and shoulder overstretched between the barrier and the road my left arm is michelin size with some movement in the fingers and thumb. It hurts more everyday so i'm taking that as a good sign. I should be in better shape both physically and mentally to make the trip back to Sydney by the end of the week.

Once again both Lisa & i have been overwhelmed by the goodwill and offers of help from AHC friends far and wide "this is no cyberclub" let me tell you from experience.

I would invite you all for thurs nite AHC sips but the steak thru a straw is to be missed Lol3

Looking forward to the photos Greg - pm me the nasty ones if you like.

Great weekend at Jindy - Did i miss anything?Ghastly

Cheers Ruffy

Exactly that, the extra hands is much appreciated by the ambos guys, much thanks goes to your assistance.
Assisting to group lift patients, put them on spine boards, holding numerous items and assisting carrying oxygen bags, monitor - you name it your help is much appreciated by the ambos.

I feal sorry for ya Ruffy I had a neck injury 9 years ago and I know how painfull it can be and it takes a long time to get over it. I landed on the top of my head and the doc reckons I had a hairline fracture in c5 but they wernt sure. One of the worst things is the friggin neck brace. I ended up with a sore on the back of my head where it had been rubbing its gay but you will get over it. All the best!

Ruffy, you and Chris get yourselves better soon hey!!! We need you guys back out on the road with us.
I'll send you some pics. I did take quite a range but nothing too offensive ( I think).
I think the only thing you missed was the game of cards that you would have had if you didn't come riding.
The comment to Lisa about K9's is one you won't regret if my experience over the last 6 days is anything to go by.

Mianna & my thoughts are with both you guys. Look forward to hearing all the good news as you both recover.

Good to see you're up and around enjoying view from the top floor their at TCH Ruffy. We've got a spare bed in South Canberra, probably 10 mins from TCH if Max's place if getting full just in case it's needed for Lisa.
