Being a post whore here
I liked the new Hayabusa, I think it would look awesome in the sunlight, as would the GSXR1000. I also liked the paint scheme on the ZX14 Retro Toaster, but it may be too little too late.
We spent some time looking at the tourers, ST1300 was ok, FJR seat was like the busa and no clutch handle.....disturbing. My pick of the tourers was the K1200GT, which are being reduced in price to march them out the door before the K1300 series comes in. I also sat on the K1200S which was also nice.
Kathy sat on a few bikes, having the front wheel chocked was great for her as bikes she would otherwise never sit on she was able to try out. She wanted to sit on a cruiser, just to see what it was all about, but got off it fairly quickly all the same, as it was uncomfortable for her.
We noticed that the GSX650F was being released in a learner legal version (god knows what power that would be, std is 85hp). The model number you will love - GSX650FUK9. The SV650S was the same, but it was a SV650SUK9. So if you like a SUK or a f*** they are available...

I would not buy one though, once you have your full license it's cheaper to flick it than derestrict it as you need to change ECU etc etc.....
Didnt really look at the Dudcatis. The air cooled ones are slow, the water cooled ones are expensive, and everything had a sign saying, dont plonk your arse on me. If it cant handle it.....dont bring it into the show.
There was little in the way of aftermarket accessories. I got an intercom, but we have been hunting for an exhaust system equivalent to the little micron for the 650F but there was nobody to look at. The draggin shorts

stand was getting a flogging. Stayed away from Hardly Movingson and the Buell's, even as a sportsbike, I think there is a major issue with 1500cc jumping around in the frame to produce 50hp.
In summing, I think the show was down on exhibitors, due to Australia's recession (cmon lets admit it and move on) and that was a shame. It was busier when we left, but we started at 10am and that was the best time to hit the show in our opninion, there were half the number of people at 10am than there were at midday.
See you all there next year.
