Demo Ride Day
#1
Got paid $100 cash to ride a couple of ZX14's for about 2 hours today. One of them was stock and the other was tweeked a little to have 194hp at the back wheel. I have to admit that the 2nd of the 2 was pretty amazing, the hang on at all cost when you accellerate feeling was brilliant. The first thing I was asked when I got off the stock ZX14 was how does it compare to the BUSA? My response to that was, "It's newer". I have to admit that the front end is lighter, it almost has a power steering type of feel to it and the different centre of gravity which is a little lower than the BUSA, the ergo's are pretty good, everything is there without having to look for it and the dash is very easy to read. but all in all the only difference was the fact that it was brand new. At the end of the day when I jumped back onto "BIG LOVE" turned onto the on ramp of the westgate fwy off millers rd and gave her a belly full throttle and the front wheel touched terra-firma again after I over took the cockhead in a WRX who wanted to play games, I smiled. "BIG LOVE" ain't going nowhere, I might try a little tweeking to get 194hp at the back wheel but I'm a BUSA man to the core, there is just something about them. Anyway that was my day!!!!

$100.00 To ride a ZX 14 for a couple of hrs. streuth if they need some one for next weekend i can help. I liked the colour, black & orange & it did feel light to lift of the side stand, maybe that lower centre of gravity thing. From memory the brochure said 220 kg, loose the pipes & it would save a heap of weight . I'd be happy to have one in my garage, but, i'd rather have a busa.

I think he was doing community service, a hundred bucks per hour to risk getting seen aboard those incarnations would have been a fairer deal.

Steve who manages RACE REPLICA Kawasaki in Brooklyn rang and asked if I would lead the groups of potential buyers for a 1/2 hour ride every hour. First ride at 9.30am and the last at 12.30pm.

If a zx14 made 194 real horsepower at the tyre the motor would have to be opened. That dyno would read a stock gen2 at 180hp plus and a piped one in the mid 190,s to 200 and a piped gen1 in the low 170,s.If you want 194 at the tyre from a gen 1 your gonna need to start doing more paid test rides.Or just buy a gen2.

By chance did it have new tyres? while yours may have flatterned out a bit?? I'm always amazed how light and flickable mine feels with new rubber. - always look for an excuse to defend the mighty 'busa!!
