all aspects: i.e. Cost, time etc.

This is my DRZ400 (440 now) that I motarded. I used alot of good bits & it cost me a few grand to do. Wheels & hubs alone were thousands. You can do it on the cheap with cheaper 250 road bike wheels etc.

Depending on the bike its relatively easy to convert. You can buy all of the parts you need and just bolt them on, this of course is very very expensive.
I modified a set of RGV250 wheels and fitted KTM hard parts disc and caliper adapter. Cheap and woks great but not recomended if you are going to do a lot of jumps cast wheels dont have the give of spokes for that sort of hard treatment. Either way you MUST fit wheels that have cush drive or you risk damage to the gearbox when used on the road.

Check this site for advice on modding most chookies into Motards.
