Good advice, I went for both so all blue lighting, but as noted high beam is a shit design and wasted. Low beam HID is brilliant!

Umm, Max, if u are referring to the workshop manager at Red Baron at Liverpool around '99, '00, can't remember when I last worked there, anyway I digress, I held the "Around Australia M/C Endurance Record" in 1978 on a Honda F2 750/4 in a time of 8 day's 23 hours & 57 minutes, I was the first person to get this record below 9 days & the only person to prove I wasn't popping drugs to stay awake. This was done by Urinalyis in every Capital city. I was serving in the RAN as a Submariner at the time. This record was well published.
I have since specialised in Long distance riding and have just recently (FEB this year) joined the American based IBA (Iron Butt Assoc') and the Australian FarRiders, two records here, my dog, Bundy is the first dog to join the IBA (tbc) and FarRiders and secondly, my 'Busa was the first 'Busa to join FarRiders, 2044klms in 23hrs, (SS2000/IBA).
hey Tex, I wondered into the Red Baron about late '99 to get something for the bike, while I was on a course in Sydney.

Your bike was propped up at Mentor's for some time after the record run wasn't it?
8 days and 23 hours, I nearly got it right in hours then - that was so long ago.Coolsmiley

I remember reading about the run in the Green Horror not that long after the ride.

You are the Guru of distance old man.Egyptian

G'day Max, It was really great to catch up with u, Dan & Heidi last night, it made the wet trip down to Canberra worth it, The conversations, the scenery:Coolsmiley, the Bundies! etc were all good!.
Bloody Heidi,Jen & I were a little seedy this morning, Bundy was full of beans! The run back up to Sydney was dry & cold. Heidi took us down to Tillies? for breakfast this morning, it was an awsome meal.
Anyway mate, take care, I look forward to doing a run with u, by the way, enough of the OLD!!!. Ur only as old as the woman u feel!.Lol2

Cheers,
Tex & Bundy

It was good to have a beer/Bundy and yak bloke. You're not in bad shape for a 56 baby! Fatman

A run we will do, are you riding a Leadwing? Heidi reckoned you were a scream trying to catch up to her Busa on the long ride you guys did. You going to do the loop with us?

I have both - got them from Glen66, great price. The road just turns to daylight in front of me at night. Downside is, if you haven't had them on for a while, they take a few seconds to warm up. Mine are brilliant. The standard high beam on the Busa is crap. HIDs rule.

Ha, ha, Heidi is dead!!! A Leadwing aye!!.Nutkickyt1 Don't know about the loop yet, but definetly the Rumble to Darwin next year.
I'm off on Wednesday for a quick lap up the Oodnadatta & Birdsville tracks via Alice on my 1150GSA, I'll be 3 up, I'll try and get away early enough so I can make Pt Augusta on Day 1 and Alice on Day 2, wildlife is the biggest problem! I will write up a ride report.
Catch up soon.

Mmmm, 12 & 13th, will try and make it for that weekend, not sure if I can ride that far?Lol2.
My trip up to Oodnadatta & Birdsville is off, It has been pissing down with rain right through Central Aust', Birdsville had 2.5 inches the other day. The Finke Desert Race was a washout and a lot of injuries due to weather. My mates that are up there are coming home via Mt. Isa and bitumen all the way. Once that Red Dirt gets wet, everything stops, imagine trying to lift my fully laden 1150GSA out of the mud up that way,NOT!!Lol2

Sounds good. I will have to duck off to work for a couple of hours on the Sat night, but I should be back by 6.30/7ish, just in time to open the bar!

We, the Canberra Chapter of the AHC will gladly host a meeting and barbeque. My place for the barbeque, we have a lounge and double bed that comes out of the lounge in the rumpus room. and lotsa warm floor with lilos etc.

I'll pm you with the address guys.

Any thoughts on this Heidi? My own is - the bar is always open!Beer

Cheers

DUDE! COUNT ME IN! I'll have to work for a few hours, but that just means I will just have to catch up when I get there.

You are always welcome to host it at my house, my suburb is a lot seedier, I have no family to offend and the neighbourhood will welcome burnouts on the front lawn (is Les coming?), but your BBQ is better. I'm easy either way.
