Help for a fellow biker needed please
#1
I know this person is not on this forum, but he is a fellow biker in a very sad situation and I thought that some people may want to extend their good fortune onto another person. Maybe the admin here can collect from this forum and give it as a group donation from the Busa Club, I dont know, but you can work it out here.

Anyway the story as told by Adam West:

My wife is in the last stages of cancer so I thought I should organise the funeral. After she dies I am sure it is the last thing I would want to do.
I got a quote on the least expensive funeral and the total cost is $5,500.

I was going to ask for a discount on 2 as I nearly died at the quote!

Not what I expected to be doing at 37.

Stefan [Adam We]

Then his friend posted this up:

Stephan is gunna kill me for this but here goes. I've been staying pretty close to Steph over the past few months and I've been watching him squirm, twist and grimace every step of the way along this very agonizing path, never complaing never reachiing out, this guy has shoulders that you could land the space shuttle on. I'm proud to call him my friend.
But he does have another dillema thats is affecting him.
His much loved gpx 250 has a busted gearbox and as you can tell buy his thread he has a large debt to face, he has pretty much given up work to nurse his wife in her final stages, and so therefore cant afford to get his baby fixed. Now if this was just another guy and his bike i would not even bother to mention it but his bike is his only form of escape from his world which as you can tell is crumbling under his feet.

I'm looking for some help in the form of ideas to get him back on the road asap, he hasnt even on been the shortest of rides for at least the last 2 months. Ive done the rounds of getting a second hand motor and box but these are out of reach atm so if any one knows of where we might be able to get one on the cheap and/or help with installation you would be putting a bit of sunshine back in this guys life. I would be over the moon just to see him don his lid and get up the street for an hour for a coffee.

So an effort to get Steph back onto the road to help him unwind, a fundraising effort was started to work on his motor. A Kawasaki dealer came to the party with offering free labour, but $1100 was needed to put a new motor in. Hence the request for donations.

Then a couple of days ago, came the news:

My dear wife passed away peacefully this morning. One less beautiful soul on our earth.
She died with myself and my daughter by her side at 5.55 with both hands being lovingly held.

We will all miss her dearly.

Thank you all for what you are all doing, it is truly a wonderful gesture.

Stefan

I know no one in here knows this guy, but I felt so touched by his plight, that I thought if we could pass on the story, his bike might be able to be put together very soon. He is left to take care of a young daughter and son and thought the least we could do as bikers is support this poor chap who has been through hell and back.

If you would like to donate directly, there is a fund being managed by the forum admin at another forum and all the money is being passed on.

Details are

Westpac Bank
Bikes and Scooters
BSB: 033-609
Account: 307839

If there are any other suggestions, please go right ahead.

Also If you would like to see the thread in it's entirity, it is here:

If admin feel that this thread is inappropriate, feel free to delete or change as required. Thank you

I can assure you guys that this story is true, otherwise I would not pass it on.

His wife is being in Warragul today, so if anyone wants to attend the funeral you are most welcome to attend and speak to Stephan:
Details: Thursday, 29th at 11.30am. The venue is Handley Funeral Services, Korumburra Rd Warragul.

Also his bike was at Ashe Kawasaki in Warragul. If anyone knows someone there, you can ring them and ask about this story, there should be someone there who can confirm it. It was towed away to be fixed at another person on the other forum's place after they posted this reply:
Hi everyone, our thoughts are with Stefan in this trying time and I am dissapointed on his behalf that the couple of band aid attempts we have tried to do, to get his bike on the road have been unsuccessful. Unfortunately for us to properly fix the problem we would need to split the motor which would be pricey by the time it was finished. We believe we have sourced an "05" GPX 250 motor with 9000 km on it that is listed at $1100 changeover with $100 to get it freighted here. If this motor can replace the one that is in it I am more than happy to wave the labour involved to get it back on the road. I wish to extend my sincere wishes to do what I can to make this awful situation in any way smoother.

I can understand why people are hesitant. In this crazy world, there are always scams out there to try and rip you off.

My sincerest condolences to the guy for his loss. And as a fellow bikie I would like to assist him to get back on the road which may lift his spirits up a bit. So I would like to donate towards the cause, however I would prefer monies coming from our members be first collected amongst ourselves then handed over in one sum on behalf of busa club members.

So Brigitte, seeing that you made the approach can you be the one to collect on our behalf? It would need you supplying us with some banking details where to transfer to.

Thaks so much guys, it is so heart warming to know that there are people in this world who still help out, even though things are tight. I will be making sure Stephan knows about the Busa Club donations and will keep you informed about everything. I will post up all the people who donate so everything is transparent.

Every $1 helps goes towards the final figure which will get his bike back on the road.

Here is a report from Stephan after the funeral that was held for his wife Amelia yesterday:

In was wonderful to Lianne and Adam at the service today. For a day I have been dreading, it went really well. I am guessing close to 200 people in attendance at the Funeral. I had no idea how many people were there until I stood up to do the thank you speech. The Chapel was packed, along with the foyer area and overflowing to the car park. When I looked up all I could say was “holly molly”, the place was jam packed!
The service was wonderful and I was very proud of the way it was run. Though emotional, it was a light hearted service with my daughter doing a wonderful job of the Lordâ€s Prayer. I was up after Jess so I had the pressure on. I made sure Bikes and Scooters got a mention and quite a few people asked about it later. They all were so proud that there is still a wonderful community out there, all willing to help during difficult times. The response to my B&S story was always “Isnâ€t that wonderful”.
Yes the people on Bikes and Scooters are wonderful.

Thank you all for your support and kind words, the amount raised is just phenomenal.

Clem and I are just hanging to get back on the bike.
Thanks,
Stefan
